Spring Greens with Balsamic Orange Vinagrette

1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp spicy mustard or dijon mustard
1/4 tsp granulated garlic or garlic poder
1 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 tsp lemon juice (fresh or bottled)
1/8 tsp orange extract

mixed greens from the garden (I used Red Oak leaf lettuce, spinach, and Black Seeded Simpson lettuce)
edible flowers

Whisk all ingredients together in a jar. Pour a little over your lettuce and enjoy!

This would be fantastic with goat cheese and walnuts if you have them. I use edible flowers to add a little something to my spring lettuce; here I've used nasturium blossoms; you could use johnny jump-ups, pansies, or chive blossoms if you wish.

I store this dressing in a jar in the refrgerator for a few weeks.
