Today I am grateful that I can see the sky out the window from my bed. It was nice to get to look at the clouds while resting. I haven’t aways been able to do that where I’ve lived and I am grateful for that.
What are you thankful for today?

I’m thankful for the chance to speak with my son at college. I remember the expensive long-distance bills and the way we had to arrange to speak at a certain time when I was in college, dividing up the long-distance bill with roommates. While cell phones certainly cost more per month, I appreciate that with…
Today, I am so thankful that, completely unexpectedly, I found a place to perform a service I need for $45, instead of the $250 I thought I was going to have to pay at another place. I didn’t know how I was going to come up with the $250, and I am so delighted to have…
I am grateful for the beautiful sunny morning. What are you thankful for today?
Today, I am thankful for a quiet day in which to do a bit of sewing. What are you thankful for today?
Today didn’t go as I had planned, yet I still managed to accomplish several needed things today, thanks to help from my family. My two youngest children were ill, but everyone helped to make them as happy and as comfortable as possible, and they took turns reading to and holding my youngest and helping extra…
I’m thankful that my husband and I were able to go out to a local park (where I’ll be taking photos soon) and spend some time together checking out the trees that change colors. There aren’t many trees here (none naturally in the desert), and even fewer that change color, so it was fun to…
Today I am thankful for many things. One of them is that I did some much-needed deep cleaning in my bedroom and I’ve been so pleased every time I have walked past the bookcase and night stand that are now clean and organized. I’m thankful that I have a day that I can stay home for many, many hours tomorrow. I’m thankful that at the end of the day, my husband and I will be going on a mini-date while the girls are in dance class. I’m also thankful that we got so many odds and ends out of the garden last night, working until we couldn’t see, before it frosted hard, this morning. I had a few peppers I couldn’t get, because I couldn’t see, but overall, we’ve harvested more peppers this year than ever before. We have a very large garden. I’m thankful that it produced so much and that it, and I can rest now for a while.
Hi Brandy and one and all from Australia :D.
Sometimes it is just wonderful to have the time and take time to look around at the beautiful things in nature created just for us. My husband and I were doing the exact same thing as you Brandy. We had stopped to take a break from planting in the garden and were sitting on the veranda, when we noticed storm clouds looming overhead, they were swirling in circles and were beautiful and fluffy. We both turned to each other and said look at that there is 2 perfect Chelsea buns in the sky. Part of the fun is looking at the clouds and seeing what pictures you can find in them.
Today we are thankful for the recent storms we have had that have filled up both of our water tanks. We are thankful that the rain held off just long enough for us to fertilise all of our vegetables for the month today, do a little weeding, and plant our corn seeds and collect vegetables for tonight’s tea before more beautiful rain storms came in and kindly watered in our new seeds and fertilisers some more.
I’m thankful today for my profession. I was a SAHM that returned to college when my children were grown. It was a calling for me and I’m thankful God guided me to a place I can be of help to others and experience the miracle of birth on a regular basis!
I am thankful for my children who took care of me while I was sick with a 24 hour bug today. I am so thankful that I have taught them how to take care of things around the house and work independent of me.
I love the reminder that these posts are giving to me to find something in each day that I am thankful for. Yesterday I was shopping for groceries which I tend to do on autopilot and I realized how thankful I am to live in a time and place where food is plentiful and easily available. I resolved to pay more attention and be present next time I pick out what will nourish our bodies for the week.
I am thankful for my husband, who has been my best friend since I met him when I was 17 years old. I am thankful for and cherish the opportunities to spend one-on-one time with him, when we can just laugh, tease and be a couple together. I couldn’t imagine life without him.
My sweet husband and kids that let me ‘slide’ now and again on supper. Last night I was just frazzled after the whole day. The last thing I wanted to do was cook the pork chops I had taken out for dinner. So the pork chops will wait till tonight. Last night we had breakfast for supper. Just sausage, eggs, and biscuits. Easy peasy. Then my dear husband cleaned the kitchen while I did a bit of hand work (embroidery) to bring my brain down to normal before bed. I even went to bed early.
I am thankful for the beautiful (although unseasonal) weather. We have been able to go outside and play, gather seeds from flowers, harvest parsley and soon, lettuce, from the remaining plants, and sit outside and enjoy the sun.
I am thankful that we got our lowest utility bill EVER! It was under a hundred dollars!
I’m thankful I spilled caramel on the floor and not my foot.
Today I am thankful for my mum who shops at different places to me and managed to get me 3 large chickens for £8. And I’m grateful for my children who tonight will be happy with some sparklers and homemade food for Bonfire night. I am really enjoying writing down the thankful details down everyday. Thank you.
I am thankful that I have a family that understands the true meaning of family, even in a crisis!
I am so thankful that we are able to love and live as we choose in this wonderful world of ours.
I am thankful for my husband’s willingness and ability to barter – He was at a job where after speaking to the homeowner, he told them it wasn’t worth it for them to pay for the full audit so he just walked around with them and gave them some pointers on where to fix some air leaks in the home. The homeowner felt bad and wanted to pay him something. He noticed their sign out front and asked if they’d be willing to barter? He came home with a GALLON of maple syrup!! He knows how much I love it and I have been hoarding my last 2 cups ’cause there is no money to buy more right now ($50 a gallon is about the going rate). He routinely trades – he has even gotten boats and vehicles by trade 🙂 I think I will make him a peach crisp with maple cream.
I am thankful for my dog emmie that turned 15 today. We lost her sister and littermate this summer. It is a bittersweet day but I am so happy that one of them is still with us at 15! My children don’t remember a time when she wasn’t with us.
How sweet!
I am thankful for a fireplace and the $90 truckload of wood we purchased. Our fireplace is comforting and lets us turn down the heat during the day and evening.
Today I am thankful for several good locations where I can gather leaves to dig into my garden. The leaves are free & they help lower the pH as well as fertilizer.
How are you doing, Brandy? I have a friend who injured her tailbone a while back, and I remember just how painful this was for her. So, I was thinking of you, and hoping the pain was beginning to lessen.
I am thankful for finding like-minded people, to share ideas with, find inspiration and motivate me to continue on this frugal journey.
I am thankful for my friend that I have had since kindergarten. She has had some medical issues this summer but is healing now.
Today we are sharing conversation while packing cookies for a fundraising dinner this Saturday. We are blessed with each other. She is one of the few people in my life ,besides my husband and brothers ,who has memories of when my parents were alive. I have these memories for her and her husbands parents. We cherish each other and our lifetime of memories.
I am thankful for my husband who works very hard to be a provider, to help out those he serves, and does it with little complaint.
Today I am thankful for the rainy/misty day. It is almost as quiet outside as it is when it snows here – it is lovely.
Today I’m thankful for a difficult conversation that went “north” (as opposed to “south”), and ended on a positive and hopeful note.
I am very thankful that the weather been wonderful. I was able to turn off the heat and open the window. I even rake leaves for four hours.
Today I am thankful for Zophran. It is a wonderful drug that has helped so many and without it my daughter would not have a great quality of life at times, like now, with her cyclical stomach condition flaring so badly. After watching her suffer for so long before her diagnosis and be so terribly sick I am also so very very thankful that we have a way to make her better when her stomach condition kicks in.
And I am thankful to live in the country I do where Zophran is available for my daughter and epi-pens and therapies and ABA based school programs are available for my son. So very thankful!
I am thankful for my job which I found unexpectedly two months ago. The office is a good place to work and I feel valued and happy there. The extra income is a welcome blessing as well.
Brandy, I am sorry to hear about your injury and I hope you will heal quickly. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
That is such an awesome barter, Melissa! Maple syrup is expensive, but you just can’t beat the taste. Yum!!!
I am thankful today for being able to learn how to sew. I’ve just finished my first summer dress yesterday and I am starting something else. My teacher is a very patient and nice person and I am also thankful for that 🙂
What a lovely little story of your long time friendship…your are blessed, for sure.
11-4 I am thankful for my mother and that she is happy and healthy for her age. Since retiring from teaching she has kept herself busy with volunteer service, taking care of grandchildren, doing a bit of traveling, and keeping in touch with hundreds of friends and former students and a whole bushel of relatives. She’s a wonderful mother, wife (my father passed away), as we grew up and she is the best Grandma to her 21 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. I am glad we can get together any time we want or can chat on the phone about things important or not.
I am thankful today for abundance. I have been having a had time decluttering and giving things away. I do not believe I am a hoarder but do have an abundance of things like books, fabric and linens. I am doing my best to save and organize what I can use again but bless those that may need my abundance.
