I ended up spending most of my time last week working on organizing the sewing room (which still isn’t done) and on rewriting our school curriculum lists.  It got quite hot again last week and I had no desire to work outside.

Last Week’s Goals:

Garden Goals:

1. Do some weeding and pruning (mostly tree pruning), and fill at least 5 trash cans.

2. Plant more Swiss chard seeds.

3. Plant yellow squash seeds. I also planted some more parsley seeds and some cilantro seeds, which may or may not come up because of the heat, but I’m hoping that they will.

4. Run more water lines in the front yard.

Sewing Goals:

1. Finish dress for Winter

2. Finish dress for Wren

3. Mend at least 3 items I mended 6 items. I also found more than 6 items that need to be mended to add to the pile.

Organizational Goals:

1. Finish organizing the sewing room. This is a difficult task but I want to tackle it! I worked on this but did not finish it.

Website and Blog Goals:

1. Write and photograph 3 blog posts I did two.

Family Goals:

1. Correct all schoolwork

2. Edit pictures of the children

3. Make new bookmarks for my dad and my mom

  1. I completed half of my goals from last week, and just wrote my goals for this week. I hope you accomplish everything you want to! Is it feasible to wait until cooler temps to plant stuff? Would that make them more apt to live?

  2. I can wait, but that is a couple of months away. They are best planted in fall or spring. I knew they would struggle in the summer heat, but unfortunately that is when things were finished for us to plant, and waiting to plant everything until fall probably wouldn’t go over great with the HOA (who took more than a month to even look at my plan–which is part of the reason why we planted so late).

  3. We struggled with the beginning of summer being too cool and rainy and our cucumbers are just now coming out(nothing else has anything ~sigh~)I kind of wanted to get a fall garden growing so it looks like i’m going to have start stuff indoors until we get stuff pulled up outsidehttp://ithinkicansquared.blogspot.com/2013/08/weekly-goals_19.html

  4. I am elated, thrilled, overjoyed, and also DELIGHTED to say my husband took off from school until January. Oh I am so happy. We made a list of goals for the next four months and started working on them this weekend. We threw out some bulk items that were cluttering up our basement and he fixed the broken gate and this week we are working on putting up an ebay sale for Sunday. We think we should have 5-10 items. Our goal is three items a week up on ebay continually til we have cleared the lego backlog. Unfortunately they have some updated versions that came out so our profit will be lower but found money is found money. We are going to do some more large cleaning this week since we have some bulk items to go to the curb for Friday. I am still working on laundry. An insane amount of laundry since my three year old thought it would be awesome to creep out of his room and pull every single thing out of the linen closet and mix it with the dirty clothes and then play in it. GRUMBLE.

  5. Best of luck on your sewing room Brandy – if you’re sewing room is like mine, you put fabric, notions, whatever in there and they get together and throw a party! And then you never find them again…. LOL 🙂 We’re weeding, cleaning out and getting ready for company and school starting at our house!Have a great week,Lea

  6. We are working on rearranging bedrooms, as last week I took down the babies crib and moved her into the bunk bed, the oldest is now in her own room. so furniture rearrangement, books, clothes and other stuff, we aren’t even half way done, BUT the baby is going to bed by herself and before 10pm, for the first time since she figured out how to climb out of her crib at Christmas. We are also starting school and, new chore charts and enjoying the last days at the pool. So much to do:DThe biggest thing for me is I put together a Homeschool planner to help me remember to get stuff done, and be more of a planner for my oldest who does so much better if I share a plan with her, even if the plan changes.

  7. 1. Make mint jelly, make hot pepper jelly.2. Buy a rural route mail box and install next to our old one.3. Buy a dishwasher for the “new” house. When we built the house for husband’s parents they did not want a dishwasher but he did the piping and all just as if there would be one. His parents didn’t like modernizations. She wanted to still use her wringer washer, rather than the washer and dryer we put in. 4. Start drawing up plans for 4 season room back of house, off Living room area.5. Find a covered freestanding swing or find pattern to make one for front patio area, off kitchen.6. Clean new house (basically clean as was done before mission family stayed there a week.) Wipe out all cupboards, surface wipe everything. Buff all floors (after dishwasher install.)7. Finish tea cozy for middle daughter birthday. Using pattern found on line and fabric had on hand. All machine quilted so zip zip quick. It is decorated though with “rosettes” with a button in the middle. I googled rosettes and came up with all kinds of patterns for a realistic looking rosette. The ones in the pattern picture are flat, pleated looking. Any one know?8. Catalog 2 boxes of new books, work on reading club awards, think about new bulletin board decorations.
