French Study The Prudent Homemaker

I am very thankful for the opportunity to speak to friends around the world via video calls. I am so amazed each time I am able to do so. Yesterday a friend and I were able to introduce our children to one another, even though they are in France. Our children are similar ages and it was so nice to be able to speak with them.

What are you thankful for today?

  1. I am thankful to be able to communicate via email with a friend who has recently moved to a Palliative care unit.
We send regular messages that can be read and responded when the timing is right. It is just a lovely way to communicate.

  2. I am thankful to have icepops, lollipops, tissues, and cough syrup in the house, all three of mine went from functionally sick to piteous and icky. We are doing quiet crafts right now,

  3. I am thankful for my rain boots today 🙂 I did not have a pair but finally was able to purchase them at a clothing exchange store. They came handy today (just after a week after purchase). Pouring rain here but my feet are dry

  4. Hey, that’s pretty neat!

Today I’m thankful that we will be able to pay off our house in a few years! We’ve been doing the math and realized we can pay it off in 5-8 years at our current rate. I’m so thankful that we don’t have to worry about a mortgage for much longer!

  5. I am thankful for the chance to host family for Thanksgiving. With our parents gone for 17 years now, I really want to stay close with my siblings, none of whom live near me, and I love it when we spend a holiday together.

  6. I am thankful for the support – practical, financial, emotional, and spiritual – that my husband receives from our larger church. By extension our whole family receives it too. It’s so nice to know that there is place for questions, support and resources.

  7. I am very thankful for my husband and children. We encourage each other and believe in each other. I am so blessed to have them.

  8. I’m thankful for seasonal fruits such as tangerines, oranges, pears, and pomegranates. (And I’m thankful that they are on sale. 🙂 )

  9. I am thankful for a wonderful day long shopping trip with my mother. I helped my mother pick out a shower gift and a Christmas gift for her sister. Of course, I also found some great grocery deals. We even enjoyed sharing a frugal lunch at Costco. It’s always nice when I can have a fun day with my mom…such a blessing.

  10. I owe thanks tonight to a wonderful woman who has taken care of my hair more than 25 years now. She owns her own shop and lets me come late and she does a great job and still charges me the same prices she did 25 years ago. (well, almost) I do tip her well because I know she is giving me a huge discount (her prices are posted) She shared with me tonight that when her daughter graduates from college this year she is going to sell her house and move to New Mexico where her sister and brother in law live. Gosh I will miss her.

  11. I am thankful I have thought up a few gift ideas for my husband. He always gets the smallest number of gifts because it is just so hard to find an idea for him. I have not bought them all yet, but I’m working on it. My shopping trips are limited to about a hour or so each because I am unable to walk around the store for any longer than that. I’m using the internet as much as possible, even without free shipping! It’s just getting necessary.

  12. I am thankful that we can afford a gym membership. My husband purchased me a lifetime membership at a favorite gym that only requires a very small monthly fee. This gains me access to many spin classes, body pump classes and a pool so I can take care of my health.

Also, super thankful for the positive influence my kids coaches, teachers and instructors have been on my kids life.

  13. I’m thankful for a daughter who still calls her Mom when she has a bad day. I wish we lived closer so i could give her a hug.

  14. I am thankful that a member of the library where I work was able to give me a dozen eggs, because her hens are laying more eggs than she knew what to do with, and that another library member on disability mentioned she had spent her last $5 on milk and bread, so I knew to offer her the eggs.

Everyone is happy, including the hens.

  15. How nice that you could introduce your children to your friend’s children, despite of the distance! I am also thankful for the internet, which make possible to me to listen to the radio in French (France Info) so I can learn some more of that language.

  16. Momsav-My daughter called me too after a rough night (she’s a nurse). It’s special isn’t it when they just need to hear Mom’s voice? I’m thankful for texting also so I can send nice thoughts or encouragement to family members and friends.
