Today I am thankful for a roof over my head, a warm bed to sleep in, and food to eat.
Over 11,200 children in my area are homeless, and the temperatures are going to drop here at the end of the week. I feel very blessed for the warmth, full bellies, and joys that we have each day. I am so grateful for a home.
What are you thankful for today?
11, 200 homeless children in your area of USA – that is a sin. Very glad to hear of that charity helping. Natalie
Hello Brandy and everyone 🙂 .
Today I am thankful for vacuum seal bags to store our clothing in which makes them way more compact to fit into our very small workers cottage and the ability for my husband and I to work so well together on all household tasks.
Brandy, that is a staggering number! I can’t imagine 11,200 homeless children in your area alone.
Is it usually that high? I cannot imagine that in a rich country like yours that there would be so many homeless chldren.
I am thankful for the warmth of my home and the blessing of my friends.
Hi Brandy,
I am thankful for my job, I work for Queensland Health in a position that brings me joy. It pays well, it is within biking distance, I pack a lunch everyday to eat in the sunshine and I am healthy. This is what makes me thankful today.

I am thankful for my wonderful mom. She is such a strong part of our family. I am grateful she allowed us to move in with her so many years ago when we needed help. Because of this, my daughter is very close with her grandmother. I know these memories we’ve made while living here together will be very precious to all of us one day.
I, too, am thankful for all that my home provides – shelter, warmth, safety, and comfort. I never take these things for granted, but give thanks to our God everyday for the peace and prosperity that we enjoy in our lives. We know where we will lay our heads at night safe and secure and that there will be food on the breakfast table in the morning. I wish that all humankind could be so blessed.
I am grateful for those things too Brandy. I am also grateful for good medical care.
I am thankful my son will be home Friday for a week long thanksgiving break from his college. He is my miracle baby after eight years of infertility and is everything a mother could ever hope or dream her son would be.
Today I am thankful for your blog. I find reading your blog calming, peaceful and educational. This is my first comment but I’ve been reading your blog for awhile. I enjoy reading everyone’s comments. Thank you all.

Project 150 made me cry. It really opens your eyes to the blessings we have when so many have so little.
I am thankful for the home I live in and the opportunities to use it for others.
A spare bedroom I have, I am making into a “ Prophet’s Room” . Not just for travelling prophets/ preachers but for friends, families and acquantices passing through my city
It’s interesting that you should bring this up now. NPR just had a story on this very thing.

I too am thankful that my children, husband and I have a place to live.
Today I am thankful for having a computer and internet access at home. It allows me to save much time – instead of running many errands I can do online banking, correspond for work and personal use, shop online when needed, complete work online, and check flyers online.
I second those thoughts and am always grateful for each visit to your blog.
Thank you Brandy and all the commenters.

Today I am thankful for a friend that is helping guide me into a new way of eating due to my blood sugar being out of control. She has had great success and is willing to mentor me. The concept is so foreign from the way I am used to eating, that I feel completely lost. She will be a blessing to me.
I am thankful for books to read and listen to for free from my library.
And I wanted to share that today Amazon has the audiobook of Anne of Green Gables as a free download. Just go to the listing for Anne of Green Gables on Amazon and click on Audible version.
I’m thankful for doctors and medications that keep me healthy both mentally and physically. The human body is an amazing thing. Take care everyone.
I am thankful my hubby is still here with me – his health issues over the last year have been very trying but I am so glad I still have him to lean on and talk with.
I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve at our local church. Some may call it community service; however, I feel as though it’s much more than that serving the King of kings and Lord of lords. 🙂
I’m thankful for exercise and that I’m one of those people who enjoy it. It’s like a game and I want to win it!
Ellie, I think there are several reasons for that. Besides the *normal* amount that are counted, but still with parents, living in cars, shelters, etc., I think LV has several special reasons. The weather is warmer year-around, the Strip part of the city never sleeps, leading to opportunities to make money or loiter easier, & these things attract runaways. Add in that there are religious cults in the general area that regularly dump boys in the city (the older men don’t like the competition) and it’s not hard to see why the number is so staggering. With the exception of the cults, I expect Los Angeles/Hollywood is similarly attractive for the same reasons. Plus, there are always those young runaways that are hoping to be professional dancers, actors, etc. They don’t realize that there is so much competition. It’s all very sad. My friend used to work at a place called Children of the Night in Hollywood.
I am thankful for all the teachers I had that taught me to read. As I was reading my book last night, I thought about how easy that is to take for granted, but the amazing world that reading opens up!
I am thankful to have doctors close by to help with health issues.
I am thankful for my friends who pray with and for me. Because of them I am stronger and happier.
I am also thankful for dentists. I managed to knock out my front tooth (a very expensive and well done crown) last night and by tonight I have it back in albeit with titanium posts. Amazing! We were able to pay for it. Another blessing. I’ll be investigating a permanent solution and the insurance options but, for now, I’m OK! I can eat again and work.
I too am so thankful for a roof over our heads. Wood to burn on our hearth. A stocked pantry and prescription medication to help with Shingles. Lol
Today I am thankful for forgivenesses.
I am thankful that I have house, a warm bed to sleep in, food to eat and Brandy’s blog to read.
I am thankful for the unexpected card we received in the mail telling us friends we had not seen in a while were thinking of us!

Debby, thanks for the explanations. They make a lot of sense. What a staggering number of childre, though.
Thanks again.

I am thankful for our old farmhouse that we have 7 years left on mortgage. It reminds me of my grandmas house when I was growing up. I even have her old corelle dishes. I love two story homes. I’m so grateful because we have everything we want in life. I pray life stays this way for the next 30 years.
Me too!
