I’m thankful my husband is willing to take my daughter to her doctor’s appointment today. I don’t like going to the doctor’s and I was dreading taking her. I asked him this morning and he agreed to take her instead.
What are you thankful for today?

I’m thankful to Larisa Patel, who said, “No problem; I can take care of that for you right now” and fixed my website. Larisa, you are awesome!
I am thankful that my husband could come home today for the Thanksgiving holiday. It has been months. The children have been playing games with him this afternoon. What are you thankful for today?
Today is the last day of this series. I had something planned to write, but then today went differently, starting with a call this morning from my mom from the hospital. My parents are home now, and I’m grateful that my dad is going to be fine. What are you thankful for today?
I’m thankful that I was able to deliver photos that I took of my great-nephew’s baby blessing to his parents today. It was my first time using the website to transfer photos to someone and it was a learning curve for me. I offered to take photos of a few families locally for free…
Ivory woke up early in the morning, just as I was about to get into the shower. She came in crying, that little whimper that comes after a bad dream. I am thankful that she has a mother who can comfort her after a bad dream. I know there are children who don’t have…
I’m thankful that I was able to attend church today. What are you thankful for?
I am thankful for the engineers of cars and vehicles and roads who make driving so much easier and safer than it used to be.
I’m thankful for the telephone appointment with my doctor’s office and the ease of renewing my prescriptions at my favourite pharmacy. Everything was taken care of within 48 hours and the new prescriptions (4 pills plus an epi-pen) cost me a grand total of $3.08 for the admin fee – very thankful for Govt. Health Insurance!
I’m thankful for the people, computers and machines that keep our water clean and flowing to the house, run the sanitation plants, keep our electricity on and collect our trash.
I am thankful for good neighbors. We know almost all of our neighbors here and several of them have become good friends.
I am thankful for my SAD light. It helps me feel (and act) like a nicer human being this time of year.
SAD = Seasonal Affective Disorder.
I am thankful for our chimney sweep who cleaned three chimneys today and left each room spotless. We are now set for winter fires and can light our range cooker too.
I’m thankful for books and libraries.
I am thankful for good health and needing no drugs.
Today I am thankful for my health and the health of my family.
It was a joy to watch DS playing with the dog across the street after he came home from work the last couple days and how much fun they had. The dog’s owner is very sick so he hasn’t gotten much attention the last year or so. On a sad note, today DH had the car out and it started getting cooler so I decided to close the front drapes. As I walked in the LR I noticed the dog sitting on their sidewalk facing our house, looking down the street at times, like he was patiently waiting for DS to come home. He usually stays in back. I told DS to look out his window and he saw it too. DH came home a few minutes later and the dog had kind of a sad look when he realized it wasn’t DS. I am sure he will realize that DS comes and goes at different times but it was sweet how much that attention meant to him.
I am thankful for time with siblings today enjoying coffee around the kitchen table.
I’m thankful as well for my husband taking my daughter to her optometry appointment.
I am very thankful that I have such a comfortable bed. I’ve spent so much time in bed over the past 2.5 years that it became important for it to be comfortable and not cause more problems. I think that I slept much less when raising children because the bed was uncomfortable and I didn’t know it. A piece of thick foam and comfy sheets + comforter have transformed my time in bed resting or sleeping.
I am thankful my husband reinstalled the mirror on my dresser today. It has been sitting in the garage since January when we moved the dresser out of house so we could work on our remodel. It’s lovely to have it back!
My husband is not handy and dislikes doing these kinds of things. It meant a great deal!

I am thankful that DH could put up 2 x 5 shelf storage units in the walk in pantry and one in the laundry for putting more food storage and cleaning products 🙂 . Grateful the smaller shelving unit that was in the laundry fits in our upstairs bathroom to store personal care items on.
Happy also that I could rearrange some food in the walk in the pantry on to shelves that are spare now the personal care items are in the bathroom.
In our new home, we inherited some custom-made Levelor metal blinds. One day, one of the strings wasn’t working properly. My husband did his best to fix it. Ultimately, I found some one who would make a house call. He restrung a section and also replaced one of the wands to turn the blinds, which had broken off. He charged $40, which I thought was very reasonable. Much less expensive than having new blinds made. I use the blinds daily to keep the temperature controlled in my bedroom.
