I am thankful for the chance to sit and watch a movie at home.

What are you thankful for today?

  1. I am thankful to have time to get our office/craft room closet organized (the last of the unpacking in our new home) – and to be able to pass on some fiber supplies to my best friend’s girls, curated for them as I sorted and consolidated. It’s always a delight to encourage someone’s craft passions!

  2. I am thankful that I have the time and means to be charitable to others. Sometimes I do it grudgingly, but when I count my blessings, I realize I have no reason to quibble about giving.

  3. I am thankful that my garden is put to bed and the canning left is not so time-urgent. I am thankful for this blog that sent me on a path to prepare over a year ago, well ahead of rising prices, and for a well-rounded pantry.

  4. I am thankful for health care professionals who love working with people and are good at their jobs.
(I hope they are well paid!).

  5. I am thankful that my 20 year-old grandson with autism has outgrown many of his negative behaviors and has become a fun person we love to be around. Years 13-18 were trying times for all of us. Through weekly therapy, a close relationship with my husband and me, and getting him involved in church, he has grown to be patient and forgiving with his siblings…most of the time. He has oppositional defiance disorder, but is definitely becoming less likely to automatically defy rules. He is learning to better manage his disability income. He is receiving vocational rehabilitation and working on baby steps to eventually becoming an independent adult. Seven years ago we feared for his future and considered sending him away to school, for the sake of his siblings. I am so thankful that God had plans for him and led us through some dark times to the brighter days we have now.

  6. I’m thankful to get my hair done at the local hair academy, by students. I’ve been doing this for about 3 years now and it’s about 1/4 of the cost of a regular salon. (I recently checked and to get a highlight for my thick, long hair it would be well over $200.) I’ve yet to leave the hair academy disappointed. I’m grateful!!

  7. I am thankful that my daughter is coming home for a week to help me recover from knee surgery which is scheduled for tomorrow.

  8. Thankful I got the courage to act on something I’d been putting off for nearly a year. Thankful for flannel sheets I already had. Though the family isn’t getting together for thanksgiving this year (we just had a big family gathering wedding), I’m happy I don’t have to plan food to bring, so don’t have to cook.

  9. I was thankful to be treated at McDonalds by the woman ahead of me. I woke up at 3:00 A.M. so my meals were early all day. The errands I ran after my husband got home took a little longer than expected so I needed a little snack between stores so I could finish.

  10. I am thankful for leftover pot roast in my freezer that I could make it into beef stew on a cold night. Also I am thankful for a friend bringing me lunch today because I had been sick.

  11. I am thankful that my tree-cutter showed up today and managed to cut down a tree that I had noticed had a vertical crack its whole length. I have used the services of our tree-cutter’s company for many, many years. He gave me a good price, easy terms to pay (“whenever”), and he and his team had that tree and some other branches down fast. He and his team do a great clean-up too. I had only 15 minutes notice but he was in the neighbourhood and he is wrapping up for the winter so I am grateful he squeezed my work in. The tree was totally dead and the recent wind blew it so it was beginning to lean toward the house. One more major task accomplished!

  12. I am thankful for the weekend! It is a time to recharge, refocus and plan for the busy week ahead! Brandy, it is wonderful to hear you do something low key, I know you are a busy, busy mom and wife!

  13. I’m thankful for my parents, now gone, who sacrificed so much to provide such a good home for us.

I was not always grateful at the time! But the older I get, the more thankful I am.

  14. Today I am thankful for taste buds. We’re having a simple dinner of baked potatoes with grated cheese and/or tuna, but it tastes so good! I really grateful that we get to taste a whole variety of delicious things and God didn’t design us to subsist on bland nutrient paste, or just gave us one thing to eat like bread.

  15. I am thankful for the internet today. We couldn’t attend our sons athletic event (hosted several hours away) but it was livestreamed. He did so well and I screamed at the screen, to the enjoyment of my husband. 😉 I followed that up with texting our son, his coaches and family. So grateful to still be supportive and involved this many miles away! The world gets smaller anytime I travel or arm-chair travel. And keeping everyone connected so seamlessly is amazing!

  16. I am grateful for regular communication from our daughters. They include us in so much of their lives and we all enjoy keeping up with family matters and fun.

  17. I am thankful that You Tube has so many interesting historical videos for free. Today we watched the story of the war of 1812.

  18. I am thankful that we have a fireplace and stayed warm enough when temps were in teens when our furnace went out. Thankful, too, for ample throws, quilts and blankets to snuggle into.

Brandy, your photos are spectacular … every post!
