I am very thankful for the bounty of food that we are blessed to find and enjoy.
I am thankful for DIY hobbies. I might be inheriting a turn of the century home and I want to research all about the ways I can put my love into a very extensive renovations. So far I am looking into rock garden renovations, rusted metal sculpture verdigris, and pruning rose bushes that have gone wild. Fascinating . I am giving myself complete permission to make huge mistakes and to learn from them since I amstarting as a novice. I am leaving the professional renovations such as electrical, plumbing, foundation and windows to the professionals. what a gift to get the right help.
I am thankful for the beautiful birds I’ve seen recently. One of them, once plentiful, is now rare.

There is a storm raging around outside and I am grateful for my safe, strong house.
I am thankful we have the solar pump on the deep well connected to the pressure tank AND we got 1/2 inch of rain. Our pond is down 12 inches and it is what provides ice to 6 Amish families for their icehouses. They cut ice Dec to Feb.

I am thankful for my husband. We went to t turn the heat on and it wasn’t working. He worked on it for 20 minutes and we now have heat. He has many great qualities but being able to fix things has saved us so many times.

I am thankful 2 lifelong friends helped me assemble a shelving unit & organize a junky closet. Not a fun task but it goes so much easier with 3 people & someone to visit with as you work. The donation truck came this week to haul off unwanted items. I love my new organized closet! My mental health is also better when order is restored to a cluttered area.
Naps. So many times through the years it’s necessary to keep on working no matter how tired we are. Now I’m retired, my children are grown and when I am tired I crawl into my comfortable bed and take a nap. It feels wonderful.

I am thankful that a change of weather has meant I can enjoy wearing some long sleeves and pants. They are a very nice change after 74 days of triple digits in our very long summer!
In the giving part of thanks+giving, today I gave patience and kind words to two people who tried to insult me online.

I never liked scented candles before. For some reason, in October I bought gingerbread smelling one. It has been so enjoyable and my husband likes it, too.

We made do with the freezer not working on bottom and both vegetables and fruit bins freezing underneath for 6months

I’m thankful my best friend is recovering from a traumatic brain injury. This is month 3 and she is finally in rehab. It has been a scary experience and I’m glad she cannot remember it. She sent me my first text by herself today!
Grateful for good weather lately and being healthy enough this year to get the fall yard cleanup attacked. Silly, I know, but it’s stressful when you know things ought to be done and you have barriers.
