Each November, I post a series of gratitude. I share one thing I am thankful for that day and invite readers to do the same. Today, I am thankful for the freedom to choose how to educate my children. Up until 2 1/2 months ago, I had always homeschooled my children. On the first day…

I’m so thankful today that I found an Oroblanco grapefruit tree for the garden! It is a five-gallon pot and the straightest one I found was twice as tall as the others in the same size pot (it was easily a year older in growth). It was $29.95, which is what I was hoping to…

I’m thankful to Larisa Patel, who said, “No problem; I can take care of that for you right now” and fixed my website. Larisa, you are awesome!

I’m thankful my husband is willing to take my daughter to her doctor’s appointment today. I don’t like going to the doctor’s and I was dreading taking her. I asked him this morning and he agreed to take her instead. What are you thankful for today?

Today as I dug in the garden and planted bulbs, I was very grateful that we were able to relandscape the garden. That area of the garden had been overrun with solid crabgrass roots and I had not been able to eradicate them in over 15 years. We removed all of the soil from that…
Today I am thankful for my boys. They are grown. I am glad that I get to talk to them often.

I am thankful for the mild weather we’re having. It is a nice break from the extreme cold and wet heavy snow that we’ve had early this year. I am thankful that we raised some money on our silent at auction for our ladies club scholarship, loan and grant program and that one of our nominees received a grant of $3,000. I love helping young women in financial need apply for assistance. It i inspiring to meet such bright young women.
I am grateful to live in a community where we look out for each other. We teach each other in exercise classes, offer rides when needed, walk together, watch movies together, and are interested in one another’s well-being.
I’m thankful for a chance to visit not-local family this weekend. We don’t see each other often enough.
I was really tired the other night and was so happy to pull on my flannel nightgown and climb into bed to read a while before sleep. I realized how thankful I am for my flannel nightgowns. I’m pretty sure living through all those Minnesota winters has something to do with that. 😊
I am thankful for our baby, who will be one on Friday. It was such a hard pregnancy, really a colossal struggle for the whole family, but she brings so much joy to all of us. I hoped all through every miserable day of that pregnancy that I would be looking back in gladness one day, and I absolutely am. Worth every second!
I am thankful for people who give unexpected compliments, because those are the best kind! Case in point: I got in line at the post office yesterday, and the woman in front of me, who I know slightly, turned around to see who was there, and said, “Oh, Hello, Heidi! I thought I felt something warm behind me.”
I shall see if I can spread her friendliness this week.
I’m thankful for the gift of being able to spend time with another granddaughter and pass on tips and knowledge about baking. We had such a fun time!
I am thankful that I was able to listen when a friend needed to talk.
I am so thankful for those who came before me in my family, who were such great people and left a legacy of hard work, perseverance, caring and love.
We have moved to an area of the country (northern VA) that is much more costly than I was used to. Not what we were expecting in retirement! But family is here, and we need to make this work.
So I am thankful that I live within walking distance of a reasonably-priced grocery store (Lidl — similar to Aldi.) Both the prices and the walk do me good.
I am thankful for a restful weekend with church fellowship and good food, rain, and cozy, warm clothes to wear.
I am thankful to be able to answer the voicemail for my husband and son. I can do this from home.
I am also thankful, very thankful, that we were able to find what my husband needs for ski instructing. He’s the disorganized sort (but he tries) so I sneak in and get all together in the spring. Sometimes I do a better job than others. This year went well!!!!
I’m so thankful for a midwife who answered her phone at 4:59pm today, just a minute before she was supposed to be closed, and she helped me get a prescription sorted out that the pharmacy had messed up. Just grateful- I really needed that medicine and would have had to wait until Monday to get the issue fixed had she not been so compassionate.
