I’m grateful for a quiet Thanksgiving spent at home.

  1. I am thankful for a beautiful blue-sky day with slightly warmer temperatures.

I wonder if apples that have shrivelled can still be used for something. I was given so many apples and cherries and pears at once that I did not get all of the apples dealt with. Any suggestions, anyone, please?

Thanks Brandy for all of the beautiful photos. Ann

  2. Like you, a quite Thanksgiving at home. My husband has been in and out of hospital 4 times in the last 2 months. We stayed in town instead of going to family Thanksgiving this year because his issues are not all ‘taken care of yet’ and we did not want to be too far from hospital. We had small dinner just the 2 of us. A blessing

  3. I’m thankful that I can spend Thanksgiving with my mother, as my dad and both my parents-in-law passed away in 2015 and 2016.

  4. I am thankful for a wonderful holiday spent with family. We were especially blessed to enjoy time in the home of my husbands 88 year old grandma, and 90 year old grandpa. It was wonderful to cook the holiday meal for them to enjoy with extended family.

  5. I am thankful for my very capable DH who repaired the teapot lid, my barrette, and his belt buckle, then put up new hooks on my DD’s bedroom door and in my closet.

  6. We traveled for Thanksgiving. It was a good trip for which we are very grateful. We are back home and all is well. Once again, we give thanks for a safe journey.

  7. I am thankful for family, enough to eat, clean water, a peaceful neighborhood. I’m thankful for all the many species of birds that grace our yard.

  8. I am thankful that my husband and I could deep clean the bathroom and scrub the wall and floor tiles and grout with a toothbrush and citrus vinegar to make it sparkle again. We are also thankful for having a serviceable car that we can go grocery shopping with.

  9. First, I am so thankful for your blog, Brandy. I am so grateful for everything you have taught me, along with the wonderful community you have created here. Thank you so much for every post you have created, despite your busy life.

Second, I am grateful the files from my old computer tower were able to be saved. On Thursday, DD was having a hard time dealing with school and ended up coming home early. That morning, “Dan the computer man” had stopped by to give me the files. DD and I spent the afternoon watching videos of her or made by her when she was 5 and 6 years old. We both had a really good, full belly laugh over them. It was a great way to spend an afternoon together. So grateful for the precious memories I could share with my daughter during a difficult time in her life.

  10. Also for a quiet Thanksgiving spent at home. My daughter cooked the whole meal without much of a headstart on Wednesday, and everything came out fine. She is not fond of cooking but is great at baking and candy making and FUSSY things! She really stepped up when needed. I was sidelined after two days stay in the hospital. Had expected an outpatient procedure–became inpatient but I was home by dinner time Wednesday.

  11. Nov 22 – I am thankful that my husband’s suitcase (which did not make it home with him when he returned from his business trip abroad) was delivered to our door by the airline two days later.
Nov 23 – I am thankful for an enjoyable Thanksgiving with my family. My mom is 77, so I am thankful for every year we can spend together.
Nov 24 – I am thankful for a day with no commitments. I did a little Black Friday shopping, caught up with a few friends on the phone, and ate Thanksgiving leftovers for dinner. It has been a busy few weeks, so it was good to have a fun, relaxing day.

  12. Shrivelled apples make the best applesauce! The apples are so ripe, when you make them into applesauce it is nice and sweet without added sugar.

  13. Thanks Rhonda and Jeannie. I’ll do a bit of both –– some applesauce and some dehyrdated apples.
