I am thankful for three good hair days in a row! That’s unusual 🙂
What are you thankful for today?
I am thankful for three good hair days in a row! That’s unusual 🙂
What are you thankful for today?
I am thankful that my children did their chores this evening. They were gone all morning serving others (cleaning the church building, and collecting food for the food bank for Scouting for Food) and the house was a disaster when they left. Amazingly, they got all of their chores done for the whole day…
Today, I am thankful for a quiet morning where my two youngest stayed asleep and allowed me to work on this website early in the morning! I was able to read comments and work on writing posts. What are you thankful for today?
Today, I am thankful for a quiet day in which to do a bit of sewing. What are you thankful for today?
Armistice Day, Remembrance Day, Veteran’s Day I am thankful for those who have fought for freedom. What are you thankful for today?
Today, dear readers, I am thankful for all of you. I am thankful for the ways I learn to be more frugal from all of you. I am thankful for the struggles that you share. They are a reminder to me of why I write. I am thankful to know that many of you are…
I am grateful for the library’s online resources that make it possible for me to study another language, for the rain that fell today, and for the encouragement of a stranger. What are you thankful for today?
I’m thankful for a morning spent with my son, running errands and going out to breakfast. We seem to find it easier to talk about important things when we’re driving somewhere. I often wonder if any other people are like that.
I’m so glad to read this because it is a standing “joke” (kidding in all earnest) in my family that we have our best discussions while driving… we laugh about it but consider it a true blessing. It warms my heart knowing you and your family share the tradition. 🙂
I’m thankful to have my daughter here visiting and staying for Thanksgiving week!
Three good hair days in a row! Wow–I am super impressed.
I’m thankful for my friend Heather, who is between real jobs and working for me today. She has not been here in about 6 months. She is very good with spatial stuff (used to drive for Fedex) and rearranged my pantry shelves for me. There were some little odds and ends of space from where I had removed items, and she managed to put away 4 more cases of food! She also cleared a space in the garage so we can park a car inside! Also (and more importantly), she is a dear.
I am grateful to my sister in law for a compliment she paid me. I value her opinion.
I am thankful that my oven is now clean! The last horrible item on my to do list before Thanksgiving tomorrow ;).
I am thankful for all the opportunities my children have.

Thankful that my children are nearby and all coming tomorrow. Also thankful for the stack of 79 cent graham cracker premade crusts my husband found on clearance. They are allowing me to easily make some extra pies for the crowd very quickly! He does all the grocery shopping and constantly finds incredible deals. Obviously thankful for him too!
I made my turkey today so I will be incredibly thankful for that tomorrow!
I am thankful nothing is needed to complete Thanksgiving dinner. I am also enjoying the smell of pumpkin pies baking.
Today, as Thanksgiving Day approaches, I am thankful to the point of tears for my late husband, who left me comfortably provided for. Going forth without him is hard and sad, scary and confusing, and I miss him with every turn, every strain of music we shared a love for, every preparation for this holiday he loved, but if he hadn’t had forethought and care, things could have been harder. And in the midst of grief I am thankful for adult stepsons whose response to my query about Thanksgiving was, “Wherever you are, that’s where we’ll be.”
Hugs to you, Ava.
I feel your pain, Ava. Holidays are not easy when we’ve lost someone.
What a lovely tribute, to your husband. I hope it gets easier to bear.
Cara, thank you. We spent time talking about him and agreeing that he would have been truly happy knowing we were all together. It eased all our hearts.
Brandy, lizajane, thank you so much.
PRICELESS moments and words
much love n blessing for you… i know ur home is a warm n loved ones inspite of ur hubby not physically there… i also know u have the task to continue to make it such
Ava, what an incredible testimony to your husband! And his children! Hoping you feel his spirit close to you today, especially.
Hugs to you, Ava.
Pam, Sheeba, Laura, Dawn ~ thank you all for your kindness and caring.
I am thankful that a dear friend is blessing my husband and me with the delivery of her delicious, home-cooked food tomorrow. I have been sick for 3 weeks, and have officially postponed our traditional meal with all our adult children and grandkids until I am well. This time last year I was regularly providing meals for this same friend who was undergoing treatment for breast cancer. What a blessing the give and take of genuine friendship is.
I’m thankful for a woodstove, and plenty of firewood today. It’s our coldest day yet.
I am thankful that the flooding here in B.C. did not affect me. for Patricia in Minnesota, yes my 9 year old grandson opens up when I am driving him, asking all kinds of special questions about things including death, and outer space. I believe in answering calmly and in full, so he knows the truth and facts, he seems to accept that well. also thankful for my caring adult children and all four grandchildren. ann lee s
I’m grateful that my husband had today off!
I’m with you on the hair. There is not a day that goes by that I am not thankful for my hair!!!
Girlfriend, I hear ya on the three good hair days.
I am so very thankful for my wonderful family who are pinch hitting for me … I fractured my foot and will be sidelined through the first of the year. They have gone above and beyond to coordinate our Thanksgiving get together in our home tomorrow. So very blessed!
Today, after working a few hours this afternoon in the cool damp outside, I was so thankful for the leftover stew in the fridge to reheat and have a homecooked warm meal with minimal effort.
I am thankful that on my first visit to the United States from Australia I arrived on Thanksgiving, without me actually realising the significance of this day. The youth hostel I was staying at in Los Angeles had arranged a big thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings and we were all invited. This was the first time I had tasted pumpkin pie 🙂
i remember that as well… my first two- three weeks in America. Astonished at the abundance of food and food traditions n how much i loved the first taste of pumpkin pie some 20 years ago… the boys who made it from scratch laughed at my expression but i truly appreciated the tastes
I am thankful for people who share their joy in the holidays by decorating their homes. Even the overdone displays, or underdone and dropping strings of lights were fun to see as I drove after dark tonight.
I am grateful that the accident that stopped all traffic for about forty minutes late this afternoon was a one car rollover accident that left the driver able to walk around apparently unhurt after it according to a woman who lives right where the accident happened. When it took so long for the police to reopen the road, I had feared the worst.
Hugs to Ava, I know what are going through. Your stepsons sound kind and thoughtful. I am thankful that I got to go out to dinner with my family to a restaurant. I found out at the end of the meal that my nephew picked up the tab for everyone.
Thank you, Gen. <3
I am thankful for us being able to afford a large home in which we have commandeered one of the large 5.6 x 3.6 m bedrooms to turn into a food storage room 🙂 .
It was a tradeoff on living in the country with a much larger home and more land that was far cheaper or living in a larger regional town in a far smaller older home on a small suburban block that was far more expensive.
We are glad we made the decision to live in the country where we can have larger vegetable gardens, home and land. Also we are not that far away from shops here in 2 different directions. It also helps my husband to have wide open spaces around him due to his PTSD from his military service.
I am thankful for my good dentist and staff! I had lots of traumatic visits as a kid and young adult, and thoroughly dread going to see dentists. My dentist of the last five years, is kind, gentle and has an amazing staff. The time flew by as the hygienist talked and I didn’t have any cavities! I wish he could have been my dentist when I was a kid!
I am thankful to live where we see wildlife regularly. Yesterday morning, just before sunrise, it was snowing lightly and I looked out the front window to see three large elk moving through the woods. In the faint light of early morning, with the snow falling down, they slipped through the trees so gracefully, passing by my house and into the woods next door. It was a magical moment.
I’m so thankful for food for the holidays and a pantry!
I am thankful to be at our son’s for Thanksgiving, with my husband and many of our children. I miss those that aren’t here. I am especially thankful that our one daughter is still here on this earth, even though she is unable to be here with us.
I am thankful that I had my baby! And she was born at home, which was so restful afterwards.
Congratulations!
I am grateful for the cat sitting on my lap as I read this post. He is such a cuddle bug.
I am thankful for a husband who has skills that I don’t have. Under his direction, we demolished bathroom cabinets, removing mirrors, pried off tile, removed carpet, and took out a 35 year old huge jacuzzi tub that is never used. I was good at taking the discards and loading them in a trailer and some muscle power as needed. We drove to the dump where we unloaded it all. It took two half days and we were tired, but we are ready for next steps in our remodel.
I asked on another post but can’t find the post now 🙁 what is the name of your yellow rose? I’m looking for one of that type! Thanks so much Brandy!
It’s Graham Thomas, a climbing rose from David Austin!
Yay! Thank you so much! I was looking at the Graham Thomas or Teasing Georgia. I love this color though so that helps me decide. Thank you SO much!
This is my favorite thankful post yet!
Brandy, I know I’m coming in late, but I had to chuckle when I read about what a rarity 3 good hair days in a row is! I think I get maybe 2 of those each week. I had a haircut scheduled on Saturday and of course, my hair looked the best it has looked in weeks on Friday. Hahaha.
I’m thankful for my husband.
I took a selfie. I NEVER take selfies! I’ve been doing my hair the same way ever since and it’s turning out very good each day.
