Anenome The Prudent Homemaker

I’m thankful for the chance to make changes and do things differently.

I’m thankful that we can choose to make changes in our lives immediately, instead of waiting to start at the beginning of the year or even the beginning of the month. We can start today.

We can choose to lose weight now, be more organized now, speak more kindly now, redecorate now, save money now, or tidy up now.

I’ve been making a lot of changes to my life over the last few months, and they’ve made my life better.

What are you thankful for today?

I am thankful for a day to get things done. All my “must do” items for today are already done and I have the rest of the day to focus on things that need attention but have not been a priority.

  2. Amen! That is so true. I’m doing a little change-up, as well.

Today I’m grateful for a small thing, but it’s important to me. My newspaper came with all the grocery ads. It’s been hit/miss the past few weeks and while I can always look online, that’s just not how my routine works! I like to open them all and spread/compare.:D

BTW, that white flower is so perfect, I thought it was a broach when I first saw the picture! Incredibly beautiful. What is it?

  11. Me, too! Enquiring minds want to know! Or just the usual nosy suspects!

Today I’m thankful for our friend Colton, all 6’9″ of can-do anything. He happened to be in town today and came over to see what we could do for drainage on the west side of the house. Dug a few trenches and will be back with gravel. He is also a tender heart and is teaching two young people how to work and be responsible.

  12. I am thankful that the world is a much better place than the news would ever have us believe. I am trying hard to give up coffee and peanut butter to try and improve my reflux. I try every day to be kinder but I fail way too often.

  13. I am grateful for a day to work from home. I have been battling some stressful things lately and having a day to work uninterrupted from home is exactly what I needed to help ease the stress and allow me a mental break from all the “noise” at my workplace.

I love your flower photography, Brandy! I’m so glad that you share it with us here on your blog.

  14. I am thankful for the extra hours I am getting at work right now. There is a lot of issues happening at my work right now, much of which is not creating a positive work environment. But at least I have a paycheck coming in. I am doing my best to keep a positive outlook, even when everyone is frustrated.

  15. Hey Brandy,

Here’s a great idea/money-spinner: why not print a few flower/ flower arrangement/ christmas images from your website onto cards? I bet HEAPS of readers would love to buy a pack of blank cards from you, both to support you as a way of saying thank you, and also to just be able to own or gift your wonderful images! Packs of 5 cards or so with or without envelopes, packaged (lots of medium-little helper potential there) and posted to purchasers either just within the USA or, once you’ve got it up’n’running smoothly, around to the world! Many readers are not so crafty or thrifty that they make all their own cards, and even a ‘special events’ mixed pack with one image each for a different occasion, e.g.baby shower (those adorable baby feet images!), birthday (cake!), thanksgiving, valentine’s day etc. could be hugely popular!

  16. I’m thankful for the heat in our home. I know it’s a luxury for some people so I feel very fortunate and blessed.

  17. Brandy, you are so right. We don’t have to wait til a new day, week, month or year to make positive changes in our lives. Thank you for the beautiful reminder.

  19. I am thankful for the blessing of faith in the Almighty. For the beauty of a winter’s day and the serenity that comes from a fresh snowfall. For my husband and my son and his family.I am thankful for your blog and The Herb Shed blog that always offer light, hope, encouragement and good will. Thank you.

  20. I am thankful for my husband instituting stretching before bed because his back was bothering him. I have joined him and it is a free, healthy, bonding time for us. We are coming up on 37 years soon and it is never to late to create new healthy habits together.

  21. Brandy, thanks for your message. I, too, am grateful for each to try a little harder to make changes and be a better person. It gives hope and encouragement.

I’m grateful that I tried whole cranberry sauce on my oatmeal. It’s delicious and I’m almost through the leftovers from Thanksgiving.

  22. Can you share some of the changes you are making? You always have the ideas to make things more efficient, more beautiful for less so I would love to read about it, thank you

  23. I am thankful for this for you, too. In 1982, when I had my first child, I had only 3 weeks maternity leave! That was a different time. I had to go back to work. I am so happy that laws have changed for most jobs and people have this. Even if they lose the pay, they still are able to have a job to come back to.

  24. Rhonda, I hope the problems at work sort out soon. A peaceful work environment is so much better than a stress filled one, that is for sure.
