I’m thankful we were able to get our van fixed in a timely manner! What are you thankful for today?
Many, many years ago, I accidentally ordered two copies of a book. Today, my friend came over and brought her husband. He saw my library and gasped. He walked into the library and saw, on my shelf, the book of which I own two copies. “I love this book!” he exclaimed. “Do you own it?”…
I went to bed early again last night (I keep waking up at 4:15 a.m.!), so this is a posting for yesterday. I am thankful for my sister-in-law, who took Winter to the thrift store. Winter found a pair of riding boots, just like she wanted–for $6! She als found a jean jacket (something else…
I’m grateful today for roses. I was looking at some medieval rose gardens via Pinterest, and I thought about how roses were a luxury item for so long. Only the wealthy had rose gardens. There were some once a year blooming wild roses, but roses gardens were a thing for those with huge estates. Today,…
Many years ago, as a university student, I took a New Testament class from a great professor. I later became his teacher’s assistant until the time of his “official” retirement at the age of 72. He lived another 20 years, though, working and researching continuously. Today, I found a listing about him on Wikipedia, and…
I’m thankful to see that some of my lettuce seeds are growing! I planted these in October, and while a good number had come up a month ago, the first leaves were quickly munched by something, and I was worried I had no lettuce growing at all. In another spot, just a little ways away,…
I am thankful for so many things this morning. Happy to have a warm house and a lovely Sunday to enjoy. We are meeting friends this morning, then have the afternoon free! After last week’s marathon cooking, today is an easy day of leftovers or grilled hamburgers…no real cooking until tomorrow! Our bills are paid and the list of things to accomplish before the year ends is getting smaller.
Today I am thankful for the beautiful weather we had yesterday and the ability to spend ‘extra’ time outside. Typically we’re chilly and damp this time of year or completely frozen and snowy. Yesterday was 50F and sunny!

I am thankful for my husband who works do very hard. He’s really busy in the winter, but it seems to inspire him.
I’m thankful for the lovely week we had with our young adult girls! They left today, but we are babysitting the cat for our oldest!
Today I am thankful to have been able to enjoy the afternoon outside. It was sunny and 50 degrees. I went for a hike with my kiddos and a friend.
I am thankful for my husband who encouraged me after a difficult call from a family member.
I am thankful for a quiet day with time to rest and plan some things for next week. With leftovers to eat and no particular agenda I felt free to accomplish some small organizational things. I also saw the end of a PBS fund raising show which I thought would be helpful for the whole family to watch and the next scheduled one was convenient.
I’m thankful for a really good night’s sleep. Everything feels better if I’ve slept well.
