I spent the day in bed today.
I learned how much I do everyday, because I didn’t do it today. I’m grateful for the ralization that even when it seemed like I wasn’t getting much done, I was still getting many things done.
What are you grateful for today?
I am thankful for a former classmate who found me recently. Our lives are so different and we were never close friends, but now we can treasure each other. I’m also thankful for my 4 year old grandson napping this afternoon.
I am thankful for the beautiful autumn weather we’re having right now and the knowledge that when it gets colder I will have my gas fireplace to run and keep me toasty warm.
Hello one and all from Australia :D.
Today I am thankful and humbled for the blessing of being able to do visiting teaching and serve one of my sisters yesterday, who is close to 80 and in a aged care facility, whom I have become close friends with over the 20 months I have known her, both as my visiting teaching companion previously and now the lady I have the privilege of being able to visit teach.
I am also thankful that I have a companion who has just moved into our ward that I have become close friends with and we are able to car pool to save us both money on alternative months.
I am thankful for the way my grown daughters support & sustain each other thru the difficult times.
I am thankful for a husband that when I was feeling ucky tonight went down and got a rotisserie chicken for dinner at the bulk store. I’ll take the money out of my shopping budget for this week, but it was nice to not have to worry about dinner and just rest and not worry about being productive with a migraine.
I know how you feel. It sick being in bed with an injury that takes forever to heal. It’s very hard to slowly work back up to what you use to do and can get frustrating. For me I feel bad because my hubby has to come home and do double duty and so does my eldest child on the days I an down, however I’m thankful they are both understanding and helpful, it took a while for my eldest to come around and not be upset about he long but I think she’s understanding family helps each other out and sometimes it interfere with what YOU want to do. just be thankful you have family to help because not having family would cause so much more pain and issues.
Today, I am thankful that my parents are still around at age 75, and that I was able to talk to them both on the phone today. Even though they divorced 25 years ago, we share a lifetime of memories, and I cherish the fact that I have a good relationship with both of them.
I am grateful for the snow we had today! It was fun to play in it with my children while we waited for Daddy to come home for dinner.
Today, I am thankful for the new baby pigs that joined our mini-farm. I have been almost out of pork for a while now, but it’s coming my way again now in a few months. I’m thankful for a husband who loves to raise pigs, chickens, and now, turkeys. I am so blessed to have an abundance of meat all the time. When he raises pigs, he grows several and sells the rest. Our pig ends up being his profit for all of his hard work. It takes longer than it’s probably worth, but he loves animals and loves to get us “free” pork whenever he raises animals.
Brandy, I’m sorry you are still needing to lie down so much of the time. Hopefully, you will see an improvement, even a small one, very soon. I’ll bet your little ones are enjoying the extra stories you are reading to them, or the extra snuggles (if you can). I bet homeschool is an adventure at times–I envision books spread all over the bed with questions being fired at you from all sides:) Just kidding. I’m sure you’ve worked out a good plan. Hang in there! This will pass in time.
I’m thankful for some good busy on the cheap, for my family, via a job I took seasonally this fall. Outfitted almost all our family in slippers, for so little cost, just need to find a pair for my youngest. Bought a bookbag, all of $1, and a tote bag that zippers, for only $5 today, and shall just remove the monogram. Thankful for those slippers we shall be, cold soon, shall arrive, yet thankful too, that thus far, splendid temps!
I’m thankful I received a Winco coupon in the mail today: $10 off $50 purchase valid at Texas stores only from 10/29-11/8. It was on a cardstock flyer folded in half with general Winco info on it and two “savings” items listed: Tenderbird ready to cook chicken party wings $3.98 for 48 oz (limit 3) and Lays potato chips $0.98 for 10-10.5 oz (limit 2). I’ve never been to one before so I will have to check it out. I didn’t know the stores were open 24 hours either.
I am thankful for a husband that helped wash the dishes last night because he knew I was tired.
I am very thankful to be planning a week long visit by my older son and DIL over Thanksgiving. The gift of their time is so wonderful.
10 years ago I had just finished a year long recovery from a major health problem and was so grateful to know how my husband stepped up to shoulder lots of extra work as well as provide emotional support. It is hard to spend time not doing but wonderful to see others take on the opportunity to give to you. Hope you only have a few weeks of enforced rest left.
I am so thankful that for the first time in years, my entire family will celebrate Thanksgiving with us.
I hope you feel better soon Brandy!
I am thankful that I was able to go grocery shopping. I found a few really good prices on meat (on Ham, Turkey, and a pork roast – all huge and I purchased one each).
I am also thankful the weather has been in the 70’s here in northern Illinois so I could use my clotheslines.
I am thankful for the stock pile of food we have – the 1/2 side of beef we bought. I was able to feed my family and my son’s 3 friends when they came in from karate with a big pot of stew , biscuits and homemade peach cobbler. They finished it off.
You definitely see how much you were doing daily when you are not well enough to do those things. (And I am always amazed at how much you do accomplish daily!) Now it is time, to let your family and others bless you by doing those things for you and the family. We appreciate each other more in a family at times like this…..hard, but one of the silver linings.
I am thankful for the very pleasant autumn we have been enjoying. Not at all typical for where I live….and it has lasted for quite some time. Lots of sunshine and beautiful colors and very pleasant temperatures.
I am thankful for a nice rain we got again last night. After the drought we have been in for the past few years, we have been blessed with rain 3 weeks in a row now. Sadly some of this rain came on areas that were hard hit by fire and the rains caused flooding. Some schools, businesses, and homes are flooded. But the truth of the matter is we need this rain so much. Our area water lakes were so low it was very serious. There was talks of how to ‘buy’ water and bring it in from other areas of the country. Now, we are seeing our lake levels rise and things are getting better for the local cattle producers and farms.
I was not feeling well last night, I got out of bed and went into the livingroom to my recliner. It was wonderful to hear the rain on the roof of our metal roof (on our patio cover) It was a very soothing sound. So today I say thank you Lord for the rain.
I am thankful for the beautiful warm weather that has moved into our area for the past couple days. Yesterday I was able to walk around without a jacket, and I felt like I needed a t-shirt and short, it was so warm! It has been a nice break from our regularly scheduled cold fall weather. We will continue to enjoy and be thankful this blessing while it’s here, knowing that winter weather will be upon us soon.
I’m thankful my daughter is home with us instead of hospitalized.
I am thankful I have a husband who enjoys cats and dogs as much as I do (we are looking for another pup at the moment so that will be 3 dogs and 5 cats)
I am thankful for the 100 year old oak tree on our farm even though it makes for some epic leaf raking this time of year!
My husband bought me a beautiful swing for my birthday this summer that hangs from one of its majestic limbs. We sit on it just about everyday and enjoy its shade and beauty.
I am thankful for the fall leaves on the ground, and the warm weather we are having today. I am thankful it rained last night, it makes the morning air smell wonderful.
Becky, I have bookmarked your new blog and really enjoy reading it. Those piglets are sooo cute! I also loved seeing pictures of your daughters on your blog. They are all so beautiful! Such a lovely family you have. I look forward to reading more.
I am thankful that i was able to take a friend n her baby shopping as they have no car n though cab fares are not much according to her i keep thinking they can save every dime n spend it for all the other necessities with the holiday season coming up.
I also was able to help another friend buying meat for her cleaning it the way she wanted And bagging it all. She cannot do all that and has to rely on help becos she had surgery done for carpal tunnel on her hands. On top of it she has a little boy who had a viral fever for five days. I also laid hands n prayed for him. Just heard that this morning his fever broke and am praising God for it.
Now my kids are sick, my boy with a cold and wheezing; my 18 month baby girl with a tummy issue and start of a cold. Hope i can get them back on their feet by the time this weekend is over. Glad my hubby took off today to help me take care of them. The Lord will surely provide…
Today I’m thankful for warm coats that myself and my children have on a very wet day. Pjs to change into as soon as we got home and wood for the fire. Oh and my emergency meal in the freezer that goes straight in the oven, no prep and only one dish. I’m also so happy it’s Friday!
I am grateful that my husband got a good’s night sleep last night. He has been working very hard. The previous night he woke up about 2:00 a.m, did some business work on his computer, and headed out the door at 5:00 a.m. to work. He got home last night about 6:00. Glad he was able to rest well last night.
I am thankful that my (adult) son will be able to eat Thanksgiving dinner. After a terrifying year in which he was unable to eat a bite of food without excruciating pain and vomiting, and watching him lose 100 lbs while doctors tried to figure out what was wrong, he was finally diagnosed (Crohn’s) and put on a health regimen. He can eat food again. I am thankful.
Thankful that after some lean years, when we got an $800 heating oil bill yesterday (we live in northern Alaska) I was able to pay it off out of our utility bills savings account without having to worry about what else we would have to sacrifice in order to pay for this essential.
A few days ago, I got a traffic ticket. While I did grouse about it for a few minutes, I was thankful it wasn’t for anything serious, that no one was harmed, and that I am alive and well! It also reminded me to be more aware of my surroundings haha!
Thank you, Rhonda. I am so new at the whole blogging experience, I know I’ll figure out more things in time. My young adult niece got me started. It’s so awesome to have them be able to show you something after a lifetime of showing them things. She was so proud to get Aunt Becky going on a blog!
I am s thankful my husband is able to get some overtime these past few months. It has allowed us to fill our propane tank and stock our freezer….we will be toasty warm this winter from our gas fireplace and all have full bellies 🙂
