What are you thankful for today?
Today as I filled up the pepper shakers for the table I realized what wealth such an amount of pepper would have constituted in the middle ages. I am grateful for food, for clothing, for a warm home, and for my family. What are you thankful for today?
Today I am thankful for the ability to be up and doing! While I am still healing and cannot sit, today I had the strength to get up and get some things done. After not being able to do much of anything the last two days, being out of bed for just a bit…
I’m grateful for the beautiful weather we had today. It was warm enough for the children to play outside and there was no wind. The children enjoyed eating lunch outside. What are you thankful for today?
Today I am thankful for the Swiss chard (silverbeet) that reseeded itself in my garden earlier this year. The plants were big enough to cut for dinner tonight, and there is plenty more to eat several more nights soon (plus, of course, it will keep growing). What are you grateful for today?
Today, I am thankful to finally have a great pair of earbuds. I’ve been able to listen to music while staying up late to make pies for Thanksgiving without waking anyone! What are you thankful for today?
I’m grateful that my husband was able to find conduit to run wires today to run to the sprinkler boxes and to run to these lampposts. He had to go to multiple stores before he found any, and we were worried that our project would be delayed. What are you grateful for today?
That we had no place to go today, since it snowed about six inches in our part of town last night and I don’t want either one of us to drive unplowed roads. Staying home is nice!
I would have to say the same. I did do a little paperwork with my budget and put a lot of newspapers into the recycling, but aside from making dinner, that’s about all I’ve done. I need that Sunday slowdown every single week!
Brandy, it is a blessing that you had a day of rest. It’s necessary for me too!
Today we are thankful for our church, safety driving there and back, and for new friends we have made there.
I am thankful for a quiet afternoon and evening at home.
Today I was thankful for the opportunity to be involved in fundraisers to support a health Center in Nairobi , Kenya. It was a good use of time.
My poor hubby was down all weekend with a terrible virus, so I went to church without him this morning, then did family Sunday dinner at my sister’s, also without him. I’m thankful that he is feeling better and has a training day tomorrow, and not a full day with the kids he works with, as they are pretty intense and he is still not 100%. He’s had his job for a little over 1 year now, and I’m very thankful that he has one. I’m also thankful that the insurance is extremely wonderful with this new job!
Then, I am thankful that I stayed home with him all evening and took a little nap, and watched t.v. I was super tired, and even though I’m sorry he was sick, I was glad not to have to go do our normal Sunday evening routine.
I am also thankful for a day of rest. I am also thankful for both Skype & FaceTime, as I was able to visit with three of our children over those today.
I am thankful for my husbands knowledge and skills as a cook. This weekend he mixed up some marinaded chicken souvlaki, which we enjoyed for our Sunday dinner. I also put 3 more meal servings into the freezer. Because of this, we no longer have to go out to eat every time we get a craving for chicken souvlaki!
Today I am thankful for my health
I am thankful for the cooler weather and the ability to now enjoy the outdoors.
I am thankful that we got our daughter and her family moved out before the deadline. I am thankful her dogs which have to be stressed are coping really good about being with us. I am thankful that my dog Rascal didn’t even growl at Wilbur and Charlotte when we brought them in being totally strange dogs to him..He usually carries on quite a bit with strange dogs.I am thankful that my GRANDSONS understand the bad choices their mother has made and while be supportive and respectful and talked about open communication of bills for the household and her very low income being a food server working part time and her needed a FULL TIME job with a SET Wage…that’s how I got the text from the older son and exactly word for word from her youngest . I am thankful that they have been taught and saw by example how to deal with issues without anger.
I am thankful for the time change and for what I perceived to be an extra hour of sleep!
You have my prayers, Juls. Parenting is not for the weak!
I am thankful that we were able to make a stone path outside our cabin door so that we do not have a mud pit with this latest project. And, it cost us nothing but effort!
I’m thankful for books. I love the feel of the pages, the smell, the possibilities. I believe books can save a person, give focus and hope. They can spark wonder and imagination. The world would be flat and one dimensional without books.
I am thankful that today I saw 2 really sad apples in the crisper and turned them into really delicious apple muffins using a new to me recipe,
I am thankful for my crock pot. I was very busy today but took 15 minutes to throw everything in it for pot roast with veggies this morning. We had a lovely family dinner tonight with very little work on my part.
I’m thankful for the wonderful visit this week from my family. We are few in number but close. I have a zoo pass that allows me to bring along a guest for free and my brother and I enjoyed seeing the animals, including some new baby birds.
I’m thankful that during the visit, my sister and I discovered we shared the same tastes in books and we’re going to do a swap of our thrift shop paperbacks by mail in a few months.
Momsav, so true! I love books too.
