“Enough is as good as a feast.” Caroline Ingalls

I am thankful to have enough. We’ve had some rather large extra expenses this week with more to come, but I am thankful to have enough of what we need.

What are you thankful for today?

  1. I am thankful that I received for free a huge box of practically brand new clothes in my son’s next size up! This is a huge blessing to us!!!

  2. I am thankful for my Savior, Jesus Christ. I glory in my Redeemer and His absolute, eternal love. I am grateful for the power that I have felt as I’ve turned to Him and plead for His help and strength. I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me.

  3. I am thankful that my daughters message me almost daily to keep in touch. My parents died when I was a young parent and I was not able to share an adult relationship with them for very long. It is so remarkable to have the adult relationship I have with my children. I do not take this blessing for granted.

  4. I am thankful that, in some small way, I can help women who need scholarships or grants to urther their education. Tonight I was very moved to read an applicant’s letter.

  5. I am thankful that I am able to care for patients thru COVID despite health care’s failings and down falls

  6. I am grateful for good, sturdy outerwear so we could get to church warm and dry in yesterday’s rainstorm. We don’t have a car and it was absolutely chucking it down – I felt like Scott of the Antarctic sloshing through puddles in wellies, raincoats and thick woollens, but we were comfortable. Possibly more so than people who drove in their ordinary clothes and then got soaked between car and door!

  7. I am thankful we live near the sea. It lifts my spirits and puts everything in perspective every time we walk there, surrounded by nature. Yesterday flights of Brent geese swept in overhead and landed on the water.

    1. I live on a lake and it is equally calming here. We have migrating goldeneye ducks fishing out front. Unspoiled nature is so restorative.

  8. I am grateful for serving in various capacities at my church. It has allowed me to get to know people and to know them in a way I wouldn’t otherwise have the chance to do. It is indeed a blessing!

  9. I am thankful my elderly folks were able to sell their home near Seattle in late summer and get into a house near us in Arizona. After a career-span of our military moves around the world, now they are 15 minutes away and easy to get to should they need something. (Plus as we all get settled, everyone is shifting items around – free for them and us. I gave them two of our Aerogardens as I can now plant outside vs needing portability; they gave us 100-ish wall bricks for our garden as they no longer want to bend and do other heavier garden work outside. It’s enough bricks to make three perennial beds in our new yard – which we started building this weekend after hauling them all between houses. I’m grateful for the ability to do that, too! 😀 )

  10. I am thankful for the use of my time. I know that sounds odd, but I’ve had to make some significant changes due to indefinite family health challenges. This shift has given me the opportunity to be more available to those in need. It’s something I am not taking for granted. Physical, mental and emotional health concerns seem to be running rampant and I have felt very prompted to help my family and some neighbors in tender ways: listening, feeding them, noticing them more, a kind word. I’ve always done this but the rearrangement of my time has made for more natural possibilities vs rushing around trying to jump in and help. I am just so grateful that I can learn to love people better, far beyond my capabilities, because God’s hand is in it. I admit, I have had to alter the state of my heart to help some prickly people. Turns out, in doing so, I became less prickly too.

  11. I am grateful that we live 1 1/2 blocks from my parents. After living across the country for many years, this is a huge blessing.
I am also grateful that we had been able to help them with many things lately – mostly driving and heavy lifting. It’s a blessing for both of us!

  12. I am thankful that yesterday I cooked large pots each of Tomato Basil Soup and pinto beans, made a big pan of cornbread, baked a big apple pie, and found half price loaves of french bread. These humble foods will provide 6 quick and easy to heat hot meals this week for the crazy schedule and events that have become almost a norm to us.

  13. I’m thankful for the women in my Bible Study Fellowship group. Some of us met for coffee yesterday afternoon, and it was such a blessing to get to know them better.

  14. I am thankful to be at my daughter’s with the grands while she does some early Christmas shopping. The baby is napping, I am doing puzzles with the 4 yo and the older 3 are doing school. They are a joy and being with them makes me feel so blessed!

  15. I am thankful for parents who taught me to work and I am grateful for the health to be able to work-both inside and outside the home.

  16. I am thankful for the beautiful fall color that arrived a couple of weeks ago in north Georgia. The beauty of the falling leaves (maple, oak, Japanese maple, crepe myrtle) warms my soul, and the raking and bagging of the leaves warms my body!

  17. I’m thankful that my newly married daughter still feels comfortable calling me at any hour when she’s having trouble from her head injury. It’s going to take them time to transition and I’m glad to fill the gap until they do. She called recently at midnight and I was able to reorient her and alla well again 😁

  18. I am thankful for grown daughters who still love their mom. We had some picture taken yesterday to recreate a picture taken nearly 40 years ago. It was fun, cold!, but fun.

  19. I’m grateful to be HOME! We had a quick turnaround trip over the weekend and there’s no place like home! For Saturday I’m grateful for 3 beautiful inches of rain! I’m pretty sure I could hear the ground gulping it up lol!!

  24. I am thankful for our fireplace that kept us, and my daughter’s family, warm and toasty during a recent power outage.
