"In the midst of affliction my table is spread"

"The Lord is My Shepherd", Hymn 108

This site is dedicated to all those who struggle to put food on the table.

We built up a food storage when times were good; when they turned for us, we had food to eat. What we eat comes from that storage, and from our garden. On the rare occasions that we have enough to buy food, we add to our storage those same basic items (oil, sugar, flour, etc.), and sometimes we buy eggs, potatoes, and butter. I rarely go to the store, and if I do, it is usually
for some cheap margarine to put on my homemade bread. The bread is good; you'll like it.

Don't have food storage? You'll find plenty of frugal recipes (most of my meals feed my family of 8 for less than $5; many are less than $3)  and tips on building a food storage to save you money and keep your family fed during the times when you can't afford to buy food.

May God bless you as you work to feed your family.
