  3. I am thankful no fires started in my area from the extreme wind we are having combined with the very dry conditions. We had a disastrous fire in our valley two years ago where many homes and two lives were lost.

I am also very thankful for some coupons I received last week which helped me get either inexpensive or free clothes—including a completely free coat from LLBean! After losing 55 pounds and literally needing to rebuild my wardrobe, I am thankful to be filling in some holes so I have clothes the proper size to wear!

I am thankful for the wonderful lady who has kindly become my daughter’s respite worker. DD really loves spending time with her, which makes me very happy. She is a very good mentor for DD as well. Next week she will be taking DD Christmas shopping for gifts for us. I really appreciate her help with teaching DD that it is better to give to others than it is to receive!

  10. I am grateful for little things that bless us. I have been wanting a flu shot, and Winn-Dixie has a special give-away this week. If you get a flu shot in their pharmacy, you get a free turkey.

  11. I am thankful that my 16 yr.old grandson with multiple, complex health and psychiatric conditions did not have to be hospitalized this week. Praying the doctors can figure out the most serious, life-threatening issue, after a full year of testing that has yielded inconclusive results.

  12. I am grateful for the smallest promptings from a loving Heavenly Father that brought my 15 year old daughter peace when she needed it.

  13. Yesterday, I learned I need to make several expensive repairs to my car. Today, I am thankful to have a car. I’ve been without one before and it makes life difficult. There is no public transportation where I live. I am thankful to have enough funds to cover some of the repairs right away. I am thankful to have a large pantry of food and other consumables to use while I work the remaining repairs into my budget.

  14. Welcome back! I am thankful your site is back up.

Today, I am thankful for good medical insurance. I had a bump on my chin biopsied yesterday at the dermatologist. They don’t think it’s dangerous, but I am very glad that I have insurance and the resources to have this checked.

  15. I am thankful that I may be getting better after a really rough flu. fingers crossed! I went to my ophthalmologist’s office and while there, a family with three sick children was in the waiting room. One of the kids sneezed in my face and I was doomed.
I wish they had cancelled their appointment and I hope my eye doctor does not catch this. Now that I have my new prescription, I found the Montreal company has a kiosk in the mall here and
I can get progressives, lenses and frames for $395.00 as opposed to $890 for normal stores. my insurance will pay for the $395 in full.

  16. I’m thankful for happy memories of loving parents and a childhood when I was raised to be respectful and kind. It seems these days as I read the news that many people missed out on that.

  17. I am very thankful today for health insurance and medical providers. We had to change insurances last summer, and that meant changing every single doctor we had gone to, some for 25 years, which was hard for us to think about. However, we are slowly getting re-established with the new ones, and it’s going well. After a very long wait, I finally saw the new endocrinologist yesterday. He was highly recommended, and I am blessed that I got in to him. It turns out that he is a retired missionary and he and his assistant prayed for me at the end of the visit. First time for that. I felt very blessed.

I also had a wonderful surprise in that I thought we did not have dental coverage, due to one letter we had received saying, “This plan is not dental coverage–only medical” (seemed pretty clear to me). But, then last week we received another letter saying, “This is your dental coverage, you should be going to the dentist.” Hmmm. Anyway, I already had an appointment scheduled with my dentist I’ve seen since high school, and when we called him, amazingly enough, they accepted that dental insurance, and I was covered. (I was planning to pay cash for the appointment, so it was a great big happy surprise to not have to)

Because my husband has a lot of medical needs right now, having insurance is literally a God-send.

  18. I am thankful that my 95 year-old Mother came through surgery on the 8th with flying colors. She is right back to being her wonderful sassy self. That might be why she is 95 and still going strong.

  19. I am thankful that I was let go from my job. My health and family life has improve so much. Thankful an interview last week. Will find out next week.

  20. Glad your site is back up and running. 🙂

I’m thankful for a stir-and-pour bread recipe and for the heavenly smell of baking bread.

  21. So glad you’re back!
I am grateful for my hearing, and for so many wonderful people and things to listen to.
And I am grateful for the advances being made in hearing-aids and other technologies to help those who have lost theirs.

  22. Snap on the Rose’s, mine are blooming as well, so I’m delighted and thankful. I have a new job, very pleased and thankful for that too. And I’m joining some friends for brunch today which I’m anticipating with thankfulness. So many things to thank God for.

  23. I’m thankful for my mom- who took time off of work to help me with the older 2 kids and the baby this week. It made a world of difference.

  24. I am thankful I was able to get a good start on my mom’s Christmas shopping for her yesterday. I am very thankful for a patient and kind clerk that waited on me and used her coupon magic to give me a huge discount which was a very pleasant surprise for my mom. This year my mom really can’t get out much to shop so I offered to help her out and yesterday was an excellent start. She was happy and I was happy. It was a bright sunny day and I was able to shop for her and get my own errands done as well.

  25. I am thankful for my kitchenaid mixer and attachments, still going strong after almost 20 years. I used the dough hook to mix a loaf of French bread to go with dinner tonight. With the weather getting cooler, fresh baked bread is such treat!

  26. I am so grateful that we are moved into our new home. We had a house fire in March and our entire home and its contents were destroyed. I am also so glad your site is up and operating smoothly Brandy.

  27. I am thankful for my friends. I saw a group of old coworkers yesterday (most seen only once a year) and felt such joy at seeing them and marveled at how lucky I am to know them.

  28. I’m thankful for my iPhone. I know it sounds silly, but I had a pay-as-you-go “dumb” phone until my husband bought me a refurbished iPhone SE for $159 for Christmas last year. I was paying $12 monthly for the old phone and now I’m paying $23 a month for this one. It keeps track of my steps and I don’t have to worry about using up my very few allotted minutes. It’s really helped me get out of the house and I’m a lot less anxious now. I use apps like Ibotta, Fetch Rewards, and Shopkick on the phone, and I’m using the free Lose It! app to track my calories-I lost 10.6 lbs last month. I kind of feel like my iPhone gave me my freedom. We’re a one-car family and my husband works 40 minutes away, so I’m getting out and running more errands on foot. Sorry to ramble. :p

  29. I am thankful for my husband, who has eaten pea soup for three days running with no complaint so that we can save money for a bountiful Thanksgiving.

  30. I am thankful for a warm and cozy home while the snow is falling and temperatures are dropping. There are meals in the freezer and a pantry filled with food. I feel blessed.

  31. Glad you are back! Praying all is well.

I am thankful for my husband. It can be taxing to deal with the new “him” but we are adjusting. He’ll be gone next mid-week. It’s been a great visit and we have a new woodbox. Happy days!

  32. I’m thankful today that I am finally unpacked from our summer move! Well, everything except the garage, but all the stuff there actually belongs there! My sewing room is up and running!

Your pink rose is beautiful, Brandy. I got a David Austin Strawberry Hill climber for my birthday. Is yours the same? If so, I’ve got a lot to look forward to!

  33. Your rose is lovely. I’m thankful for a beautiful, warm, spacious, happy house on this windy and rainy night.

  34. I just downloaded the Lose It! app. Thank you for sharing. Congratulations on your weight loss. That is a significant amount to lose it one month.

I’ve only had a cell phone for a year and a half now, but I enjoy it, too. I am especially grateful for the Google Maps app. It really helps me and it’s so nice to listen to it tell me where to turn instead of using a paper map. At night, that is super helpful; I can keep driving instead of having to pull over to read the map every so often.

I also really enjoy the Overdrive app to read library books on my phone.

  35. I am thankful for people praying for my husband’s health issues. I am thankful that this site is up and running again and that I can post what I am thankful, because sometimes I forget how blessed I am.

  36. Thank you! It has taken me several years, but at this point it was well worth it! I just needed to learn how to eat healthy! That—and break my sugar addiction, which was really hard for me but now that I no longer crave sugar it was SO worth going through the cravings to get off sugar!

  37. I am thankful my husband and I were able to walk to the mailbox together today. We went very slow, let our dog Scooter sniff every rock and leaf. Then we met a new neighbor who had moved into the house beside our driveway. She invited us to a cookout and bonfire they will be having next month. Good neighbors can never be appreciated enough.

  38. Krissy, congratulations on your weight loss and for finding the usefulness in your iphone. I have had an iphone for awhile now, always an older model. I have only a few of the apps…Duolingo (for reviewing German) , Goodreads and Audubon (helps with bird-watching and identification). I can also log into my library (work) computer if I see a good deal on a book at a thrift store or used book store, for example. and then I can make sure we don’t already have it before I buy it. Same as if I am on AMAZON or CBD and see a good deal on a book or DVD we need.

My original reason for buying it was for the camera as I needed a camera. I use other buttons but I don’t think they are apps? They were there when I bought the phone, like the weather and the google and the mail and the “notes”. I really like the notes section. The maps is helpful too..
