I’m thankful for a warm bed and a roof over my head.
What are you thankful for today?
I’m thankful for a warm bed and a roof over my head.
What are you thankful for today?
I spent Friday and Saturday having a garage sale. It was the second-largest sale I’ve ever had in terms of items for sale. We set up seven tables and also hung clothes between three ladders on metal conduit. I am thankful that my parents gave us items to sell; they were larger items and the…
On this hundred year anniversary of the armistice, I am thankful that I am free. What are you thankful for today?
I’m thankful for my two-year-old, who yesterday answered my childhood question of whether or not it was possible to stick green olives with pimentos on one’s fingers just as well as black olives. If your fingers are small enough, you sure can! I’m also thankful for all of his ugs, and his remark to…
Today, I am thankful for all progress we have made in the garden. I am able to plant again with hope for a spring harvest. We missed snow peas this spring. Now, there are new snow pea plants coming up in the garden. Lettuce is coming up, and green onions as well. I read yesterday…
Today I’m thankful that I had already planned to take the day off school. (The local public schools actually have the entire week off. We had school yesterday). I had planned on baking all morning for Thanksgiving and sewing this afternoon. I didn’t manage to do that at all, but having planned on not having…
Today I am thankful for a roof over my head, a warm bed to sleep in, and food to eat. Over 11,200 children in my area are homeless, and the temperatures are going to drop here at the end of the week. I feel very blessed for the warmth, full bellies, and joys that we…
I am thankful that a good friend who lives seven hours away has a conference in my city and is able to stay with me for three nights. It’s been wonderful to talk and catch up with her!
I am thankful my husband returned from his work trip safely and that both of our cars are working well, in spite of being older.

I am thankful for home heating and cooling, so people can live in many different kinds of climates without having to chop and haul trees and fuel, or endure sweltering heat. I take my responsibility for conserving energy very seriously.
And I am thankful for my two favorite luxuries in my car: Air Conditioning and Rear-Defogger! Love not having to scrape ice off that back window!
I’m thankful for your thankful posts! They remind me to take a moment and think of the blessings in my life. It’s so easy to get caught up in the minutiae of my day and to forget the bigger picture.
I’m thankful for electricity. Our power has been shut off because of the Santa Ana winds and fire danger.
I am thankful for longtime friends.
I am grateful for a beautiful fall where I live … it’s been one of the best I can remember. Although, I live in a different state now, I “felt” a memory from my teenage years as I walked outside yesterday. The air felt the same and it made me smile.
I’m thankful that my mum is visiting with me today and helping with baby. It’s let me get a few hours of sleep, as well as get a few things done, plus she even put my balcony garden to bed for the winter.
I am thankful for my new glasses and also for safety driving to many appointments this week.
I’m thankful for some of my in-law’s relatives who survived the Paradise fire, although their property is totally gone. They made it out, thankfully!
I am thankful that my Thanksgiving cards will be going out tomorrow, as I had planned. I opted for these instead of Christmas to take some pressure off of this year. I wasn’t expecting Thanksgiving to be so early this year so it snuck up on me!
I’m thankful for my new job. It has health insurance and a great company match 401k. It’s never to late to start saving. My health has held out even working 50 hours each of the last two weeks. Pretty good for this old disabled mom!
I am thankful for my cozy house and clean fresh sheets that hung out in the sunshine drying today to sleep on tonight. And I am thankful for my 4 year old grandson who helped me out with chores today and was so happy when I bought him a small bag of Doritos for a reward.
I am thankful to have spent the evening celebrating a grandson’s birthday.
I am thankful for the strength of my husband and son. They often are hailing, lifting and moving things for me. They are such a blessing.
I am also thankful for my daughter who realizes when she is being grumpy , apologizes and changes. She is such a blessing.
I’m thankful for finally saying goodbye to our 20 year old faithful Toyota and buying a car with blind spot indicators, reversing camera and heated car seats – all things I didn’t think we needed and now can’t imagine living without.
I am thankful for living in a very convenient location close to my city’s downtown, and being able to walk to work, the grocery store, the library, and many other things.
I am thankful that I can make a good meal from an assortment of random things from the fridge and freezer.
I am thankful for nice weather today after a few cold days. The front door was open for quite a few hours today and the cats enjoyed it.
Tina S. That would be wonderful to live within walking distance to so many things. I love where I live, in a very quiet country town but I am two miles off the main highway on a dirt road. It’s 14 miles to town (grocery store, library, etc.) I do have a beautiful view though and even cattle grazing up here in the spring.
Whoops, I missed this post! For November 12th & 13th, I am thankful for my deep pantry, which is currently feeding not only our family, but also my brother and DD’s friend. I am also thankful for our how hard we’ve worked on improving our finances, so I can continue with replenishing our pantry as needed and whenever sales present themselves, without feeling any anxiety about our budget.
I’m thankful for good neighbors.
I am thankful that my beautiful daughter turned the corner from darkness into light. She has had clinical depression for over 25 years and is very difficult to medicate. The one drug that worked seems to have pooped out (that’s the clinical term, LOL) about 4 months ago. She had not worked nor lived with her other family (she is developmentally disabled) for 6 weeks. Until Nov. 14, 2018. Yesterday, when I was gone for about 1-1/2 hours, she decided to take a shower (which we’d been arguing about), get dressed and get ready to go to her other family. When I got home, she apologized completely on her own and I took her to the other place. This morning, she happily went to work, and is back here for the weekend. She hung up all her clothes this afternoon. She told me tonight that she was glad to be in from the dark (how she describes depression).
Praise the Lord! Years ago, realizing I could do nothing for her, I had to give her over to God, and He has been faithful. There have been hard times, but they always end. There is no other word for this than what it is: a MIRACLE.
Maxine, I am so glad to hear about your wonderful news.

I am thankful my youngest son Reese has been able to return home to visit this week. We haven’t seen him for six months. I am also grateful that my pantry is full so I can send him back with a truck bed full of food.
