Thankful Series

Today I’m thankful that I had already planned to take the day off school. (The local public schools actually have the entire week off. We had school yesterday). I had planned on baking all morning for Thanksgiving and sewing this afternoon. I didn’t manage to do that at all, but having planned on not having school made it easier when I needed to just sit and hold my one-year-old all day. I’m glad I could hold him when he didn’t feel well.

What are you thankful for today?

  1. Oh my, I hope whatever is making your little one feel so under the weather is not too serious, Brandy.

Today I am thankful for my daughter. Today she surprised both myself and her support staff at school by working hard and completing the provincial mandated Practice Literacy Test. We all underestimated her ability to actually sit through this long test without loosing focus or refusing to complete it. I’m so proud of her accomplishment today and so grateful for the small wins in her developement!

  3. Hello Brandy and everyone from Australia 🙂 . Reassurance, love and closeness to Mum all day is a true blessing for Octavius and yourself too.

Today we are thankful that my husbands back is going okay that we were able to deep clean, wipe down walls, dust, polish furniture and wooden blinds and vacuum the lounge room in our home to get ready for our 4 monthly real estate inspection next week. It looks so much neater and tidier and smells wonderfully fresh in here now.

  7. I am so thankful for this blog and Brandy’s tradition of the Thanksgiving posts. I am also so appreciative of “friends” who share so generously of their lives and money-saving ideas. We are blessed that my husband is still working half-time. We have food, clothes, and all the basics! Happy Thanksgiving!

For today, the 22nd, I’m very thankful that my husband offered to wash the dishes after I had done about half the Thanksgiving prep work. I was pooped out!

I didn’t know where to post this, but I wanted to pass on that our Kroger affiliate (Dillons) is doing specials from downloaded coupons for specials on different days. I downloaded 2 of them to my customer card. One was for 8 oz. bags of cheese for .99 cents on Friday. That’s the price point ($2 lb.) I used back in the late 90’s!! I also did one for butter for $1.99 lb. That’s for Sunday only. Ours doesn’t say anything about limits. So, you may want to check the digital coupons if you have a Kroger affiliate and see if you can get some special deals.
As you know, those are great prices! Good luck!!

  10. I felt a little down yesterday so it was a lovely surprise when a charity I have supported (for cataract surgeries for people) had a representative stop by to give me a certificate to thank me for donating for 30 years. It just lifted my spirits to think that I was able to help restore some people’s sight. I am thankful to have been able to help out in this regard. It is nice to know that something so minor (to me) made a huge difference in the lives of people in impoverished countries.

Brandy, I hope little one is feeling better….
