I am thankful that my husband figured out a less expensive solution for me to use what I already have to make it work better for me. I was considering a purchase that would be beautiful and useful for my business but would also take up space we don’t have. My husband figured out a way to use something we already have. It will take some time and effort on my part to make changes to the existing item, but I have most of the materials needed.

  1. I am thankful that I made many batches of freezer tomato sauce this summer. When I need a quick meal, I can thaw a container of it and use it on the pasta that I already have. I use the tomato sauce at least once a week.

  2. I’m thankful that it’s Saturday, and I only have to feed the indoor dogs and cats, while The Redneck gets to feed the out dogs, cats and horses! Love my critters, but it’s nice to have a little break in the routine.

  3. I am thankful for warmer weather after a cold period that included snow and lots of wind. I have a chance to hang the outdoor Christmas lights and finish raking the leaves because of this warmup.

  4. I am thankful for my family being here with me these past months. My niece left this week, but my daughter is still here. Although I do not much help physically now, I do need emotional support. Our son will be back for winter break in a couple weeks. They are true gifts from God!

  5. I am thankful for the joy of a surprise — a visit from a relative who is passing through on Monday. What a nice surprise — now I have to figure out what to do for our short visit!

  6. I am thankful for my mom. I talk to her every day and see her once a week. Her love and presence in my life mean so much to me.

  7. I am thankful to be ready for winter. The garden has been put to bed. We live in a warm, energy efficient home with people that love each other. The snow blower works. We can afford the fuel to stay warm. We have warm clothing. We have stockpiled food. We have two little dogs that entertain us all day and keep us warm all night. We have everything we could want or need! (OK, not a ticket to Phoenix, but we actually like winter…until we get tired of it, LOL).

  8. Husband and I are now both ill but we needed a few items from the store, like milk and eggs for a meal easy on the stomach and protein filled. I saw that butter was on a massive sale, too, and the paper had a coupon for a free pick up—I guess they usually charge $4.95 to select your groceries and bring them out to the car but this Thanksgiving week it is free. So, I placed the order and set the pickup for the earliest possible so there would be little traffic and few people, put a coat over my polar fleece floor length nightgown and drove to the grocery store. It went flawlessly and I am very thankful that on a day when no one in the house had the stamina to walk through the store, that this service was both available and I had a free coupon. I imagine this must be heaven sent for people with an infant or toddler (or two or three…).

  9. I’m thankful that the farm accident that claimed my husband’s leg last Christmas, did not take his life. I am thankful that our kids are more compassionate/kind because of what they’ve experienced rather than bitter. I’m grateful for wonderful family, friends, and a community that supported us during the year. I’m especially thankful for the volunteer fire department/rescue squad that freed him and kept him from bleeding out. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I am blessed.

    1. Holly, I hope your husband is doing well. My husband has been an amputee for over 30 years. There are worse things, although it doesn’t always seem that way at the time. ((( Holly )))

  10. Thankful for my sisters visit last week. A favorable resolution for a couple of false allegations against us. The ability to stock up on lowest prices of the year on items we regularly use.

    Grateful for good health.

  11. I’m thankful for a couple of good deals at the thrift store and a day out with two of my sons (even though I’m still not feeling well). It started raining on the way home. I don’t like driving in the rain, especially when the temps are close to freezing. But we made it home safely! We were supposed to have family photos done today but I think we made the right choice in keeping the sick children home.

  12. Today I’m thankful for good neighbors, newer and not so new. I enjoyed birthday pie, with ice cream, with a newer neighbor. (At 9:30 AM.!) And, I spoke on the phone with an old neighbor who we lived next to for nineteen years. Both, awesome women!

  13. Today I’m thankful that I know how to navigate government bureaucracy. I was trying to explain to a friend how to renew their health card, and I realized just how confusing it could be to someone who didn’t understand the language or understand what documents were needed. I’m very thankful to be literate.

  14. I am thankful for my husband and dog, both are at home with me and we are spending a quiet Sunday at home together. Beautiful day here in Phoenix.

  15. Thankful for the week off for Thanksgiving Break. My college students are tired & so are their teachers. We will return in Dec. rested to finish the semester. I wondered if Winter has the week off at her college.

    1. She has classes this week but gets the weekend off. She is hosting Thanksgiving for all her international friends.

  16. I am thankful that my husband has worked hard to make our three months in the Canary Islands possible. It is easy to be frugal everyday here as the cost of living is so low. Now we are off to the UK, for Christmas in the Cotswolds. I am thankful that many London restaurants host a Thanksgiving menu.
Who would have thought??? If you go at mid day the cost is quite low. I love my husband so much for always trying to make my dreams come true.

  17. I am thankful that My husband and I were invited to the 80th birthday party of a friend that had over 150 people in attendance. It was wonderful to see some people we hadn’t seen in several years and also meet some new ones.
