  1. I am thankful for the ability to be with my grandchild on her birthday, and to attend the wedding of my godson in the same state (though not the same city). I’m thankful for time with my daughter (the 5-hour drive to the wedding), and for my son-in-law who “held down the fort” so we could go together. I’m deeply thankful for the chance to see my dear, dear friend (the mother of the groom) in person for the first time in several years. Everyone went off together and left us alone to catch up for an hour and a half and that time was balm to my spirit.

  2. I am thankful for the hard work my husband puts into our garden, it is a joy to have flowers and veg all year round to harvest fresh and to have stored and preserved food which helps our budget. We also know there are no pesticides etc on our homegrown food.

  3. Today I am thankful for tea. We tried a new kind this morning, Russian Caravan, and it was wonderful. Isn’t it amazing what a leaf and some water can taste like? Truly, God is good to us!

  4. I’m thankful for my friend who shares her work lunches with me. Her office has several catered breakfasts/lunches every week. So much of it goes in the garbage as they clean out for the next days meal. The staff don’t seem to want to take it home and large quantities get thrown out. My freezer is full and even this week I haven’t had to make a lunch for work for several days. With the high cost of food, I don’t understand it but I’m thankful she thinks of me and shares.

  5. I am thankful for enough. More than enough, really. Enough for our needs. Enough to have two crazy cats. Enough to be able to feed the birds. Enough to be able to sometimes help others. I wish I had figured out what “enough” was earlier in my life.

  6. I am grateful for my children’s thoughtfulness and inclusion of their disabled brother in activities when they are home. They adore him and have always been so protective of him. They are the reason that he functions at such a high level. So blessed!

  7. I am thankful for a freezer full of food. It makes me feel more comfortable about the future. It also helps me come up with a quick meal–some things are already prepared and I don’t need to cook!

I am thankful to be within walking distance to the bank, grocery store, a copy center, and other stores. While I need to bundle up when it’s cold, when the sun is shining and I can walk to what I need, it makes me grateful and happy.

  8. I am thankful my parents were married for 48 years before Mom’s death. It was a wonderful, grounding model for relationships for me. Yesterday would have been their 70th anniversary.
We found their wedding cards when we sorted out the house after Dad died. Gifts received were noted on the back. My grandparents were very generous, ($1000 in 1952!), money I wouldn’t have thought those farmers had.
Mom’s younger sister gave them a tomato server in their silver pattern. That must have been a joke between them, as I can think of fewer useless special-use pieces, though of course it could have been used for other things on the rare times the silver cutlery came out.
I think I am also thankful I am passed the silver generation for homemaking, as the Oneida stainless silverware works just fine and can go in the dishwasher.

  9. I am thankful that my morning commutes, at least for a little while, are made in daylight. Soon I’ll both leave and come home in the dark, so this daylight in the morning is a welcome blessing.

  10. I am thankful for the book Target 100. It has showed me how to begin lasting, healthy habits by breaking each target into small steps. I hoped to have lost ten pounds by next Thanksgiving. it is a good time to start before the holidays.

  11. I am thankful that after I was widowed my propane company started giving me a really reduced rate. They said they take care of widows and orphans. It still brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

  12. I am thankful for all of my children and grandchildren, that they are healthy and safe. I pray they always will be. They are my joy.

  13. I am thankful for the opportunity and ability to cook for others. I provided food for a funeral dinner. It was fun to cook my favorite corn pudding and try a new recipe for green beans.

  14. I am thankful for safe driving on slippery roads that seemed to appear out of nowhere (seriously – perfectly clear roads and then – boom – icky, slippery, and blowing). I am also grateful that my Mother’s hearing aids only required a cleaning and replacement of the filters
rather than something far more expensive!

  15. I am thankful for peace at night where I live. And for a well working Woodstove for our below zero night temperatures.

My son takes care of the wood and does a steller job. We’re using more this year as we moved and he’s doing a fine job keeping us in wood.

  16. I am thankful my precious hubby (who does IT work at a high school) gets a snow day, today! Love and blessings from Colorado Springs xoxo

  17. I am thankful for a day by myself to go through some things in several areas of my home that needed attention other than the ordinary cleaning. Rearranging and restoring some items differently created a more unified look and allowed me to throw away some extra boxes and clutter acquired during the height of the pandemic. I am thankful for finding a wonderful BD present that was very well priced that will be enjoyed for years.

  18. I’m thankful that while watching a book fair live on tv, I can find the author’s book online at the library and have it on my device before he’s finished his talk.
