Today, I am thankful that we had RAIN!!!
What are you thankful for today?
I’m thankful for the chance to work on some Christmas gifts yesterday. What are you thankful for today?
Today, I am thankful that I was able to learn how to fix something that I have long had to hire out. I am glad that I can now take care of this repair myself! What are you thankful for today?
Many years ago, as a university student, I took a New Testament class from a great professor. I later became his teacher’s assistant until the time of his “official” retirement at the age of 72. He lived another 20 years, though, working and researching continuously. Today, I found a listing about him on Wikipedia, and…
It was an absolutely gorgeous day, and we were able to fill the trailer twice with the rocks that are our “soil” to take to the dump. I’m grateful for good weather and the help of my family. I’m also grateful for our church’s video today on gratitude! You can watch it here. What are…
It was a beautiful day today. I watched the sunrise, which was incredible. We had some clouds (a rare thing here) and they made all the difference. I’m thankful that the weather was pleasant (We had a high of 82 degrees F/29 degrees C today). It allowed me to work in the garden all day…
I’m thankful for the beautiful weather that we’re having. It will be in the low 80’s today: perfect weather for having the house open! What are you thankful for today?
I am thankful for the gorgeous sunsets and sunrises we have enjoyed this week! Winter brings many cloudy days, so I am soaking up all the sun I can!
I am thankful for the wonderful poll workers we had yesterday. They were so organized that people streamed right through despite the large line. They checked to make sure everyone was ok and if anyone needed a seat, water, etc.
Today, I am thankful for the people of Appalachia. The loving, giving, resourceful people of Appalachia. The ones who are the “working poor”—no handouts for them—too proud. The people of Appalachia whom you see around you—the backbone of this mountainous region. I never knew my history with them, but now that I do, “I” could not be prouder. I will whisper a prayer for them for the rest of my life.
I am thankful for beautiful weather today!
Brandy
Thank you for posting this! We have also had rain in past few days in central California. I have recently moved here temporarily from sunny & hot AZ and I m not used to rain. I needed the remainder that this rain is good!
I am thankful for happy memories.
And memories remaining to be made in the future!
I am thankful for being able to take the 3yo I nanny, on walks. I get exercise, we sing, say rhymes, recite poems, note the exciting things happening and just get to enjoy being outside. In this neighborhood, a lot of kids are indoors and my mission is to get outside as much as possible!
I am thankful for the right to vote and the opportunity to research information about candidates and issues and make an informed choice.
I am thankful that my daughter got an offer on her house!
Rain here too! 🙂
And I’m always thankful for the garbage man who shows up each week.
Today I am thankful that we DIDN’T have rain!
I am glad you have rain, Brandy! I am thankful for that wonderful fragrance of a rainstorm. And glad that in the winter we usually just have snow not freezing rain.
And I am glad to see the snow against beautiful blue skies.
Same here, Brandy! It was a gloriously rainy day here in NorCal yesterday! Prayers that the wet weather continues and we get out of this terrible drought.
I’m thankful today to the staff at our local children’s hospital, who are caring for my dear friend’s son. They are doing amazing work.
My day was wide open. I have some great completed tasks on my Ta Da list. I’m thankful for days with no obligations.
TEG,
I love that you have a “Ta Da List”. I think I need one now too…
Thanks for sharing,
Lea
WOOHOO! Doing a rain “happy dance” for you!
I am so very thankful to find a local oral surgeon for my grandson with special needs. He has been in severe pain and couldn’t see a dentist for five days. Found out yesterday he not only has a very large cavity and severe infection, but he also needs all his wisdom teeth out, plus a root canal. We had been warned that no one in town would take his insurance, and I was filled with dread at the logistics of driving him two hours away with his issues after the surgery. Last night I barely slept, and prayed that we could just find a good place for him to have the surgery done without too many problems. But this morning when I gave the local office more info, I was overjoyed to learn that they are happy to accommodate his insurance! I am so very thankful for this, especially considering our past 3 weeks of non-stop medical issues. Now I am praying that he can make it two more weeks for the consult and then for the necessary surgery in a timely manner.
I am thankful for the wonderful wonderful book ‘Anne of Green Gables’. I read it as a child and have recently been given a box set of the whole series for my birthday. I started the first one today and it is every bit as soul-stirring as I remembered. I can’t wait to share it with my daughters in a decade or so!
Today, I’m a thankful for leftovers to reheat for a quick dinner after getting home later than expected.
I am thankful for wonderful conversations with 2 of my senior parishioners. So glad to spend time with them and hear their stories!
I am thankful for the wildlife I see in the woods near my home.
I am beyond thankful that my brother’s scans showed his pancreatic cancer has not further metastasized… He has been battling stage 4 and is now in year 6, basically past all expectations/data! Not an easy road for him, but the results this week continue to lift us up.
I’m thankful for time with one of the grandchildren for the next few days. We love the 1:1 time and it’s helping working parents and a no school day.
Thankful for our little heater that saves on our LP Gas.
I am thankful for the privilege of voting.
I am pleased to have my husband home for a second week; a preview of what retirement will be like.
I’m so thankful for those who give their time to ensure we keep our republic such as it is. I was thinking how many Americans it takes and grateful to each and every honest one. If you were there doing what was needed, thank you.
I’m happy that you got rain! It must feel like such a gift! I know this summer after a very long, very hot spell without any rain, when we got any at all, we were so excited! I’m thankful for these warm November days with cool evenings!
Today (10th November) I am grateful for the chance to spend a whole day with my son doing what he likes best: watching model trains. We went to a model village, just us two, and I didn’t have to get home for little ones’ naps or herd a gaggle around and check no one’s touching anything or or or! We went round it once looking at the model buildings and figures, and then he wanted to stay all day and just sit there and watch the train go round, and I was for once able to just say yes. It was a beautiful time.
I am so thankful for a wonderful day. I feel good today. I found wonderful sales at the grocery store and only spent 35 dollars for quite a bit of groceries. And to top the day off I saw 10 turkey, a deer and a bunny. Then this evening I heard geese in the sky after a rain and before the freeze. I know they are headed south.
