Lemonade and Lemon Meringue Pie
Last December we had a bumper crop of lemons, easily 5 times what we had harvested the year before. I get asked what we do with all these lemons. First, I use lemon juice on Swiss chard and artichokes from the garden. I freeze juice from our lemons to use throughout the year for this…

New Recipe: Rosemary Fig Gelato
I was visiting with a sister from church the other day, and we were talking about all of the ways in which I use rosemary. I have one plant, that has become huge over the years. I make so many things with rosemary, including rosemary potatoes, rosemary olive oil bread, rosemary white bean soup,…

What Your Children Really Want for Their Birthdays
We celebrated my son’s birthday last week. I made him a blueberry pie (his request) using some cans of blueberry pie filling a friend picked up when Fresh N Easy closed down near us (She called me to ask if the prices were good prices, and then on her way home she dropped off some…
Because . . .

I will have to try this one with that pasta salad! Yummy!
I am going to have to try this. For almost a year now I have been living a mostly garlic and onion free life because I have a low tolerance to them. I spent months constantly sick before I realized I had this food intolerance. I am one of three in my family with this. One of the things that I miss is salad dressing because the only garlic & onion free kind at the store is almost $4 a bottle & this brand never has coupons. So I am looking forward to trying this.
This recipe calls for garlic and onion, but you can always leave it out! You can also try making my balsalmic vinagrette without those ingredients.
