Welcome to my new site!
Here are a few things to note: First, of course, is that my blog is now integrated into my website. It wasn’t a perfect transition; it appears that we lost some comments and all of my photo were shrunk. I’m going to work at putting every photo back in, but that will take a…

How to Make a Tassel and Free Printable Bookmarks
I’m so excited to offer this free printable on the website. I’ve been working on it for a really long time, so I just kept making new bookmarks, and giving them to my children, and to their friends when they had birthdays. This means that this isn’t just one free printable, there are several, with more planned…

Homemade Crackers
Today I’m bringing you two new recipes on the website. These took a while, because I kept making new batches, testing variations in the recipes, until I was satisfied. Plus, my family wanted to eat them as soon as they were done, which often left no chance to take pictures! One is for saltines. These…

A Little Announcement
I spent some time this past week writing down all of the blog posts I’d like to feature between now and the end of the year. I have a lot of projects on my to-do list that I’m excited to share with you. I also am planning to share more photos of our home on…

Eat for 40 Cents a Day: Part Eight: Eat More Soup
Swiss Chard (Silverbeet) Soup This tip works regardless of where you live. This last week I’ve received letters from women in Denmark, Brazil, and Australia. I know that not all of the things that I am doing to keep my grocery bill as low as possible will work everywhere in the world (buying in bulk,…

New Recipe: White Bean Dip
There’s a new recipe up on the website for White Bean Dip. You can make this recipe with ingredients straight from your pantry. It’s an easy snack, especially if you’ve cooked up a big batch of beans and froze them in smaller batches. It’s also a great main course to send in a child’s lunch. Add…
Could you give me an idea of how long this dressing would keep for in the fridge?
This should keep for several months, if you need it to. At my house we usually use it up within 2 weeks, since we have so many using it.
I will have to try this one with that pasta salad! Yummy!
I am going to have to try this. For almost a year now I have been living a mostly garlic and onion free life because I have a low tolerance to them. I spent months constantly sick before I realized I had this food intolerance. I am one of three in my family with this. One of the things that I miss is salad dressing because the only garlic & onion free kind at the store is almost $4 a bottle & this brand never has coupons. So I am looking forward to trying this.
This recipe calls for garlic and onion, but you can always leave it out! You can also try making my balsalmic vinagrette without those ingredients.
