I am thankful for the inspiration I find on social media. I know for a lot of people, social media brings feelings of envy. If someone you follow makes you feel this way, I encourage you to take a break from following that person (or persons) and follow those that make you feel inspired. I…
We woke up at 4 a.m. to gunshots and sirens. The night before last, there were sirens and three helicopters nearby for over an hour. While we normally hear sirens going by and see helicopters passing by several times a week, we don’t usually hear them hanging out near here for what is obviously a…
I’m thankful I was able to visit with my brother before and on Thanksgiving. I’m grateful I was able to visit with friends I haven’t seen in years today. What are you grateful for today?
It’s the beginning of November, and that means it’s time for my daily gratitude posts! Each day in November, I share one thing for which I am grateful for that day, and I invite my readers to do the same! Today, I am very grateful for my dearest friend, who makes my life more joyful….
Today, I am thankful for a warm bed to sleep in. What are you thankful for today?
I am grateful for the library’s online resources that make it possible for me to study another language, for the rain that fell today, and for the encouragement of a stranger. What are you thankful for today?
I’m thankful for a beautiful sunrise the morning.
I am so very thankful for books! Real, paper books!
Yes! I love real books, too!
I am thankful we all have gotten our flu shots even if we had to go to another CVS that was the farthest from us in our area. The employees were nice and it is more spacious than our location.
I am thankful for my wonderful neighbors who exchange fruit, vegetables, and laughter with me!
I am thankful for my family. God has blessed us.
I am thankful for all the veterans in my life my dad, my uncles, my brother in laws, and friends that served our country.
I am thankful for, and stopped to enjoy, the smell and taste of the first potato chip out of a new bag. How horrible it would be to not have the senses I do. I can hear well, see with my very thick glasses, and feel the world on my skin.
Just like an earlier commenter, I am incredibly thankful for books. Also that I am in a time of my life that I’m no longer limited to my library but can afford to buy books from cheap used sites, so I can get what I really want. I read a great deal of nonfiction and sometimes the author will mention other books as their reference works, so I look for them on my cheap sites.
I am thankful for a productive day at work and for the support of my coworkers.
I’m thankful for the turkey dinner with all trimmings the youth at our church provided for free to anyone who wanted one tonight. Individually packaged, they gave away roughly 150 meals.

My veteran husband who served in Vietnam & has suffered physically for several years due to Agent Orange. Still a patriot & not a complainer. My life is better because of him.
C in OHIO bless you both from another Australian military family 🙂 .
Injured ex army vet husband who never complains either and my life is better because of him too.
God bless your family Lorna. Isn’t it wonderful to be able to connect with one another from so many places.
Books, books, books! So thankful for libraries, for friends who share, for eyesight to read. Reading is one of the greatest pleasures in by life.
I’m thankful for my mum. I once read a book dedication to the author’s mother, saying “for my mother, who gave me life not once, but countless times.” That’s my mum. I love her so much and I’m so incredibly thankful for her.
I am thankful for a sunny day so we could use our solar power to get all the backlog of laundry done and dried on the clothesline without having to use the clothes dryer 🙂 .
Your comment touched me so much Margaret. My mother has always loved me, but not really liked me mostly because I chose to be a stay at home mother and not take the career path she took. My mother and my sister are very close. I’m so happy they have each other.
When I was diagnosed with such an agressive long-term cancer as the family health nut my mother changed. In her mid 80’s she has finally accepted me as I am. I believe I have always reminded my mother of her sister that for some reason unknown to me she intensely dislikes.
I am so thankful that, after almost 60 years, my dear mother is much happier. Some good has come from this cancer.
