Thankful Series

Today I’m thankful for my sweet children–for their love and affection, for their giggles, and for their tears, that remind me that all things shall pass; that we overcame the things that were hard for us as children, just as we will get past the things that are hard for us as adults.

I’m looking forward to helping the children with their schoolwork tomorrow. Here’s to hoping that everyone understands all of it!

What are you thankful for today?

  4. I am thankful that my son had probably the best basketball game of his life, scoring more than half the teams points, and even though they ultimately lost he had a Christlike attitude. Another coach came to me after the game and completed him on his exemplary behavior on the court. He attends a Christian school so of course that is the greatest compliment of all for our players. He is such a blessing to us. Can’t take the credit ,he just came out that way 🙂

  7. I’m thankful for the last produce from my summer garden before it freezes tonight. Had enough tomatillos for 2 quarts of green salsa. I will cover my plants in buckets to see if they survive.

  8. I’m thankful for my neighbours. We are one of two families with children on our street. Every Halloween we take it in turns hosting a party for the kids, and as part of that we go trick or treating. Since it’s not a tradition here, I always go around beforehand and give candy to the neighbours whose houses will visit. The neighbours are so generous, and always supplement it with more of their own, so that, although we only visit 5 homes, the kids always come away with a nice little stash. One of these neighbours is Jehovah’s Witness; but she still insists on participating, because it makes the kids so happy. A lovely couple is in the process of building a home on the street; they’ve already said they want trick-or-treaters next year. I love knowing that my children are growing up with neighbours who care about them. We live on several acres, and my kids, who are still young, never leave the yard on their own; but I love knowing that as they grow up and become more independent, they will be surrounded by neighbours who will watch out for them. I’ve never lived in a community like this before; and I am so grateful that I do now.
