  1. I am thankful that I can help others even with no extra money right now. I pulled meals from our freezer and gave them to a new mom (with older children and newly home from the hospital premature twins) and a daughter taking care of her mother. It made my day more than it made theirs, though they were definitely grateful. I was so thankful that I was able to help!

  2. I am thankful for all the veterans who defended our freedom. I am thankful I have free access to online WW 1 cookbooks that taught cooks how to prepare meatless, wheatless, sugarless, dairy-free meals, using recipes that are frugal and still taste great today, one hundred years later. I am thankful for those who stand up and do right, even in difficult situations, sometimes becoming unliked and unpopular in the process.

  7. Today being Armastice Day I am thankful for our past and present military personnel who have fought and are currently for our all our freedoms. I would also like to say and special thank you to DH who suffers long term injuries from his active military service.

May God see it in his power to bring most of these brave men and women home safe to their families.

  8. I am thankful for a day at the science/discovery museum with my only grandchild, who lives in a different state. We danced with dinosaurs, played drums, moved big blocks on a conveyor belt to help build a city, and “shopped” for apples, cucumbers, onions, and flowers in the “produce department”. I’m exhausted! And thankful for that, too.

  9. I am thankful to have the many freedoms we have in this country, and I am thankful to be able to make my own decisions about my life, my profession, my family, and my body.

  10. I am thankful for my father, my father in law, my husband and my son, who were in the air force, navy, marine corps and army respectively.

  11. I’m thankful for the wonderful warm weather and the gardening I was able to do over the weekend. Very relaxing. And I’m thankful that my squash seedlings are flowering, it’s pretty now and will soon be delicious. Also I spied some baby flower buds on my tomatoes. YAY!!!

  12. I am thankful for all who served and those who continue to serve in the military. My husband was awarded the Top Vet in our town yesterday. After he received that award I watched as he was the masters of ceremony that awarded a Vietnam War Commemoration pin, with the help of his legion post and guest presenters, to 100 Veterans and 6 widows of Veterans. Such a long time coming for those Veterans. And I am also thankful for the visit from our son, a major in the Marine Corps Reserves, and his darling wife and our three grand children. They just left at 4:30am to fly back home and I am missing them already.

  13. I am thankful that my husband wasn’t hurt when he hit a deer with the car. I have faith that God will take care of everything.

  14. I am thankful to all the soldiers and amazing people, in ALL countries, who have fought and continue to fight for world peace. I am thankful for all the lessons history provides to us, both during conflict and peaceful times, so that we may learn from our mistakes and educate new generations so they will not repeat them either.

  15. I am thankful for freedom and for the sacrifice of others that brought and bought that freedom. It’s really unfathomable to me how many lives have been lost to preserve it. It’s a huge debt of gratitude.

  16. I am thankful that my ancestors courageously made the journey to America. Thankful that my handsome father served in Navy. Thankful that he was such a great father until he joined heaven when I was 15.

Thankful that a my best friend and another lady at church prayed for nerve pain in my leg and that is 90% gone.

  17. I, too, am thankful for the freedom we enjoy and those who have made and keep it possible. Our son is in the army. Both of our dads served in WWWII and my husband’s grandfather served in WWWI, so we know some of the sacrifices they have made and continue to make.

  18. I’m thankful for two great-grandfathers, great-uncle, four uncles, dad, husband, brother-in-law, cousin and nephew who served bravely for us all! Some saw danger — a lot of it — and some didn’t, but all knew they faced that risk when they signed up.

  19. I am thankful that parents take the time to teach their children about the history of our country and the world’s history.
My 5th grade niece was so honored and excited to take my father to her school’s Veterans Day celebration where he was honored for his service. She called my dad before she left for school that morning reminding him to come to her school that day!!
My 5 year old grandson shared with me that a couple kids in his class have parents that serve in the military and one of them would be visiting his classroom for Veteran’s Day. He also shared with me that his Uncle also served in the military and was in the Marines.
So very good to know that the parents in my family feel very strongly about teaching their children the importance of Veteran’s Day.

  20. I am thankful that my husband has come through 9 combat tours with wounds that are not devastating, but workable.
