What a fun week! I think we had the most fun this week watching Ivory, who is walking. She decided that she liked it so much that once she figured it out on Sunday, she spent every waking minute walking around. We accepted a used portable cd player/radio this week. We didn’t…
As I opened up the box of stored baby girl clothes in the next size up, I noticed a little smocked dress that my friend April had given to me. She knows I love smocked dresses, and after her last little girl outgrew this dress, she passed it on to me. It had a few…
This post contains referral and affiliate links. My utility bills came (gas, water, and electric) and I found that everything I had been doing to use even less than I normally do paid off in a huge way. Compared to what my bills usually are for January, and what I paid for December, the savings…
I’m still a bit sick. I managed to knock off a good number of goals last week despite not feeling well, but some were left for this week. Organization: I’m working on one room/area a week until I get each room re-organized. 1. Photograph and list 5 items for sale on Facebook garage sale pages…
Every day last week I harvested something from the garden. I cut snow peas, Swiss chard, parsley, asparagus and green onions, and picked lettuce, radishes, spinach, a couple of strawberries, and beet greens. I cut flowers from the garden for our table. We ate outside every night as the weather was beautiful each evening. The…
You know those days when your children won’t stop arguing, don’t want to do their schoolwork or chores, and you’re feeling like there is nothing good in your corner of the world? I’m sure you never have those days. Wait. You’re having that kind of a day today? Stop to count your blessings.I found I…
I am thankful for my husband.
I am grateful my close friend’s adult daughters want to recreate their childhood tradition of the four of us baking Christmas cookies together, so we’ve scheduled that. ❤️
I’m thankful we have finally come to a decision about where to retire. It’s been more and more difficult for us to live alone as we age. I feel like we will be entering a new stage of our lives and I’m looking forward to being close to our children and some of our grandchildren.
I hope you had a wonderful time together! I’m thankful for the miracles of modern medicine. I’ve just finished a round of chemotherapy cream on my forehead to get ahead of some pre-cancerous spots. I look horrible, but it’s all good!
As silly as it may sound I was extremely thankful for ”finding my way back” to my Pinterest account which I couldn’t access for 6+ months. I really do need something beautiful to look at during the dark and cold winter months, and there it is, all neatly categorized 🙂
I am thankful for having a daughter and her family live near by! Yesterday I popped in to grab some compost and we chatted for half an hour while I helped with lunch prep and played with her youngest, who is 15 months old. Having kids in other states and countries make me so grateful to have their family so close and attending church together! It is a gift!
I am grateful for warmer than typical weather.
I am grateful for a good night’s sleep and a warm home to sleep in.
I am grateful that my Mother’s fall off the step-stool resulted in only a bruised ego and a small bruise on her bottom and nothing more.
I am grateful that my parents live only 3 blocks away from us and are still living independently at 91 3/4 and 87 years of age.

I am thankful that Thanksgiving left lots of leftovers in my fridge, which meant less grocery shopping and easy to prepare meals. I am also grateful to watch Christmas movies on my streaming services. I try to be selective, but I love the variety of movies that are out there. One I watched recently, which I hadn’t seen before, was “The Man Who Invented Christmas,” the imagined story of Charles Dickens as he wrote “A Christmas Carol”.
I am very grateful to I who picked up a coupon I had, then went to the store and picked up the free item. She then went and picked up the Christmas cards I made from my photos. So I was able to write almost all of my Christmas cards today. And it saved me a lot of money as I did not have to take a cab. I am really thankful.
