I am thankful that I found a way to incorporate leftovers into dinner so that food didn’t go to waste.
What are you thankful for today?

The not everyday things I did this week to save some money and enjoy life! I decorated our kitchen table with a bowl of pears from our garden. Since pears ripen best off the tree, they last a few days as a display before they needed to be eaten. Pears are starting to ripen this…
There’s a new recipe up on the website for White Bean Dip. You can make this recipe with ingredients straight from your pantry. It’s an easy snack, especially if you’ve cooked up a big batch of beans and froze them in smaller batches. It’s also a great main course to send in a child’s lunch. Add…
I was visiting with a sister from church the other day, and we were talking about all of the ways in which I use rosemary. I have one plant, that has become huge over the years. I make so many things with rosemary, including rosemary potatoes, rosemary olive oil bread, rosemary white bean soup,…
I made blueberry muffins, zucchini muffins, bean burritos, fried chicken, black bean burgers, beef stroganoff (using some beef that was given to us last year by someone who was clearing out her freezer to make room for half a cow), oatmeal, and spaghetti. Despite being sick last week, and spending most of the week in bed, I did manage to do several things to save money. First, I treated my cold with lots of water and rest, and good dose of Pinterest. (Why yes, I did pin several new things last week!) Meals were very simple and we…
Ezrom bought some clay with his birthday money from his grandparents and made the Polie family. I harvested green onions, garlic scapes, marjoram, thyme, and rosemary from my garden this week. I planted dill and mustard seeds from my pantry in the garden. I planted several more seeds in the garden–both flowers and food. I transplanted…

I’m thankful for the ability to go to the grocery store and purchase what we need without worry. This has not always been the case. I used to wish for the time when I wouldn’t have to count pennies when I went to the store. Now, I don’t, but I cannot give up my frugal ways. I’m thankful frugalness served me well.
I am thankful for my right to vote.
