We enjoyed some rain on Monday. I collected 20 gallons of water from the roof and used it to water plants. The children enjoyed floating a few corks (it wasn’t deep enough for their cork boats, so they took them apart and floated individual corks; I found the corks a few years back at a…
Saturday night I felt like I was coming down with a slight cold, and by Sunday I felt very tired. It took until around Friday before I started to feel better. I pretty much shelved my list of goals for the week. Since I was resting, though, I decided to read. I read 5 books…
It’s the end of the day, but what a beautiful day it has been! May Day is no longer a day of celebration in the United States (though it was when my grandmothers were children), but I know for many of you around the world it is a still a holiday. I did get to…
I made two lemon meringue pies to celebrate Ezrom’s birthday and my grandmother’s birthday. I used lemons from the garden to make them. I used shortening in the crust instead of butter, which kept the cost down. It was less than $1 for both pies. He loved the giant origami cranes that his sister folded and hung for…
I mention on my Sewing for Less page that I have bought thread from Atlanta Thread for an amazing price. My mother-in-law introduced me to this company.
