My husband and I attended our nephew’s State championship lacrosse game. My nephew’s team won. He is a fantastic player; he is the #2 player in the country right now. It was a great game and a beautiful night. The boys participated in the Cub Scout Rain Gutter Regatta this week. I finished Wren’s skirt….
Apple blossoms from the garden I’ve been out in the garden pulling weeds today in preparation for tomorrow’s garden tour. I still have room if you want to attend. Send me an email and I’ll email directions to you. The garden is so lovely right now. The citrus blossoms are so fragrant, even before they’ve…
I can’t sew everything we need, though I try to sew as much as I can! Sometimes you have to buy things, like eyeglasses–or shoes–or fabric 🙂 Black Friday (and Cyber Monday) deals have helped me with the things I need. One of the ways I make the most of those deals is to shop through…
We have had wonderful, unusual weather this first week of May. We are still harvesting lettuce! Usually it bolts in mid-April. When it starts bolting, we eat some every day, but I always manage to have plenty of extra. Three people who came to my house this week got lettuce; I was really delighted because…
When I redesigned my website in January, I set it up so that I could include sponsored advertising. When I posted on my Facebook page that I was going to do this, and asked if anyone was interested, Heather was the first one to speak up. She’s been a sponsor for my site since February….
Last week’s strong winds kept me out of the garden most of the week. I’m hoping to get lots done this week. It should be 91º tomorrow! Garden 1. Spread straw under strawberries 2. Run water lines and plant aster and butternut squash seeds 3. Plant more leek seeds 4. Photograph the garden (in better…
I am thankful for the work and care of the people who post regularly on the facebook page of the historical society from the small town where my parents grew up. This brings back my parents and grandparents in my mind as I see reminders of the good lives they lived, even just doing ordinary things.
I am thankful for the people that comment here who make up a wonderful, supportive and encouraging community. Of course, none of this would be possible without you, Brandy, so I am thankful for you. Likewise for my friends far and wide.
I am grateful that technology has allowed me to teach from my home.
I am thankful for helping hands that put together a funeral luncheon for a woman in our community. Sweet people to work with, help out, and get to know better.
I am thankful for living in a wonderful community with kind neighbors.
