When I redesigned my website in January, I set it up so that I could include sponsored advertising. When I posted on my Facebook page that I was going to do this, and asked if anyone was interested, Heather was the first one to speak up. She’s been a sponsor for my site since February….
We celebrated Ivory’s 1st birthday on Sunday. She is such a sweet, fun girl and loves to make the entire family laugh. Here are some things I want to share this week: Out of eggs and living from your pantry? Try making this eggless chocolate cake. These springtime butterflies made from felt and bobby pins for…
We celebrated Elsa’s birthday this week. For decorations, my son made a doily banner using doilies that my sister-in-law had given to me and some crochet thread (for the string) that had come from my grandmother. I left the ranunculus on the table that I had purchased at the nursery last week. They were a…
A major goal of mine for this month is to make as much room as possible in our freezers for turkeys and hams in November and December. The trouble is, they are all full right now. (What a blessing!) While I don’t intend to completely empty them, I do want to make plenty of room for at…
It’s the end of the day, but what a beautiful day it has been! May Day is no longer a day of celebration in the United States (though it was when my grandmothers were children), but I know for many of you around the world it is a still a holiday. I did get to…

I am thankful for the work and care of the people who post regularly on the facebook page of the historical society from the small town where my parents grew up. This brings back my parents and grandparents in my mind as I see reminders of the good lives they lived, even just doing ordinary things.
I am thankful for the people that comment here who make up a wonderful, supportive and encouraging community. Of course, none of this would be possible without you, Brandy, so I am thankful for you. Likewise for my friends far and wide.
I am grateful that technology has allowed me to teach from my home.
I am thankful for helping hands that put together a funeral luncheon for a woman in our community. Sweet people to work with, help out, and get to know better.
I am thankful for living in a wonderful community with kind neighbors.
