I am thankful that my husband was able to come home to visit for Thanksgiving.
What are you thankful for?

Apple blossoms from the garden I’ve been out in the garden pulling weeds today in preparation for tomorrow’s garden tour. I still have room if you want to attend. Send me an email and I’ll email directions to you. The garden is so lovely right now. The citrus blossoms are so fragrant, even before they’ve…
The beginning of last week started out so well. I canned 27 quarts of pears in one day, while the children were awake, and after school was done for the day. I thought the rest of the week would go really smoothly, but it didn’t. I still didn’t get sewing done, but I did can 20 pints…
Please refrain from making comments about Covid vaccinations and mandates around the world. The comments are getting very political from both sides again. There is enough arguing elsewhere. Let’s keep this a place of peace and encouragement. I want people to feel good here, no matter their feelings on vaccinations. Many of you say that…
Armenian cucumber in the garden This post contains affiliate and referral links. I harvested a few more Armenian cucumbers. I gave two to a neighbor (they each weigh 4 to 5 pounds). I harvested a small handful of tomatoes and a small handful of red noodle beans. I cut large bunches of basil from the…
I checked the local nursery’s sale ad online (no need to get the paper to check their ads) and found out that they were having manure 10% off when you bought 10 or more bags. We had been planning to purchase manure to fertilize our lawn and the timing was perfect! I have never seen…
We ate salad from the garden every day. Some meals it was the main course with homemade bread of crackers, and sometimes it was the first course in another meal. I also picked Swiss chard several days, so we had lots of greens in our meals this week, spinach, green onions, parsley, chives, a couple of stems of asparagus,…
I am thankful for my husband.
I am grateful my close friend’s adult daughters want to recreate their childhood tradition of the four of us baking Christmas cookies together, so we’ve scheduled that. ❤️
I’m thankful we have finally come to a decision about where to retire. It’s been more and more difficult for us to live alone as we age. I feel like we will be entering a new stage of our lives and I’m looking forward to being close to our children and some of our grandchildren.
I hope you had a wonderful time together! I’m thankful for the miracles of modern medicine. I’ve just finished a round of chemotherapy cream on my forehead to get ahead of some pre-cancerous spots. I look horrible, but it’s all good!
As silly as it may sound I was extremely thankful for ”finding my way back” to my Pinterest account which I couldn’t access for 6+ months. I really do need something beautiful to look at during the dark and cold winter months, and there it is, all neatly categorized 🙂
I am thankful for having a daughter and her family live near by! Yesterday I popped in to grab some compost and we chatted for half an hour while I helped with lunch prep and played with her youngest, who is 15 months old. Having kids in other states and countries make me so grateful to have their family so close and attending church together! It is a gift!
I am grateful for warmer than typical weather.
I am grateful for a good night’s sleep and a warm home to sleep in.
I am grateful that my Mother’s fall off the step-stool resulted in only a bruised ego and a small bruise on her bottom and nothing more.
I am grateful that my parents live only 3 blocks away from us and are still living independently at 91 3/4 and 87 years of age.

I am thankful that Thanksgiving left lots of leftovers in my fridge, which meant less grocery shopping and easy to prepare meals. I am also grateful to watch Christmas movies on my streaming services. I try to be selective, but I love the variety of movies that are out there. One I watched recently, which I hadn’t seen before, was “The Man Who Invented Christmas,” the imagined story of Charles Dickens as he wrote “A Christmas Carol”.
I am very grateful to I who picked up a coupon I had, then went to the store and picked up the free item. She then went and picked up the Christmas cards I made from my photos. So I was able to write almost all of my Christmas cards today. And it saved me a lot of money as I did not have to take a cab. I am really thankful.
