I am thankful that my husband was able to come home to visit for Thanksgiving.

I cut zinnias, iceberg roses, and rose hips from my garden. I gave all 5 girls haircuts this week. Everyone but Winter asked me to bob their hair, so it seems 4 out of 5 girls prefer bobbed hair. I used a coupon code to order twenty-five 4 x 6 prints for free at Walgreen’s. I…
It was a beautiful week of fall weather. I’m enjoying our long fall this year. Our first frost usually hits between November 13th and December 15th. It’s usually toward the end of November, but it hasn’t come yet, and the weather was just beautiful all week. Of course, no one wanted to be inside. …
I sent the children on a walk to gather some pinecones from an empty lot near our house. They brought back plenty for our Christmas decorating. I cut boxleaf euyonomous from the garden to decorate in the house. We watched the First Presidency Christmas Devotional. We used an HDMI cable to connect the laptop to…
Ever since we’ve had the tree up, I start my morning by taking Ivory (who wakes me early in the morning; I nurse her and then she’s up after that around 4:50 am on average; sometimes earlier) into the living room, and turning on the Christmas lights. I love watching the delight on her…
This post contains referral links. I’ve been making plans for Black Friday, as, I’m sure, have many of you. Here’s what I’m planning to do: I am planning a little online shopping. I’ll be ordering some zippers, buttons, and thread at Wawak. The zippers are mostly replacement zippers for a couple of jackets and a skirt…
I planted seeds in my garden several days this week. Some of them have sprouted already. I put empty glass canning jars (the small jelly jars) over the seedlings that sprouted. I have found that by doing this (the last two years) that I have prevented my seedlings from being eaten by bugs and birds. The…
I am thankful for my husband.
I am grateful my close friend’s adult daughters want to recreate their childhood tradition of the four of us baking Christmas cookies together, so we’ve scheduled that. ❤️
I’m thankful we have finally come to a decision about where to retire. It’s been more and more difficult for us to live alone as we age. I feel like we will be entering a new stage of our lives and I’m looking forward to being close to our children and some of our grandchildren.
I hope you had a wonderful time together! I’m thankful for the miracles of modern medicine. I’ve just finished a round of chemotherapy cream on my forehead to get ahead of some pre-cancerous spots. I look horrible, but it’s all good!
As silly as it may sound I was extremely thankful for ”finding my way back” to my Pinterest account which I couldn’t access for 6+ months. I really do need something beautiful to look at during the dark and cold winter months, and there it is, all neatly categorized 🙂
I am thankful for having a daughter and her family live near by! Yesterday I popped in to grab some compost and we chatted for half an hour while I helped with lunch prep and played with her youngest, who is 15 months old. Having kids in other states and countries make me so grateful to have their family so close and attending church together! It is a gift!
I am grateful for warmer than typical weather.
I am grateful for a good night’s sleep and a warm home to sleep in.
I am grateful that my Mother’s fall off the step-stool resulted in only a bruised ego and a small bruise on her bottom and nothing more.
I am grateful that my parents live only 3 blocks away from us and are still living independently at 91 3/4 and 87 years of age.

I am thankful that Thanksgiving left lots of leftovers in my fridge, which meant less grocery shopping and easy to prepare meals. I am also grateful to watch Christmas movies on my streaming services. I try to be selective, but I love the variety of movies that are out there. One I watched recently, which I hadn’t seen before, was “The Man Who Invented Christmas,” the imagined story of Charles Dickens as he wrote “A Christmas Carol”.
I am very grateful to I who picked up a coupon I had, then went to the store and picked up the free item. She then went and picked up the Christmas cards I made from my photos. So I was able to write almost all of my Christmas cards today. And it saved me a lot of money as I did not have to take a cab. I am really thankful.
